You can't replicate Ancestral Visions infinitely with Djinn; while its converted mana cost is 0, its mana cost (which is what Djinn makes the replicate cost) is {} - the empty set, a cost which cannot be paid.

Thread from Open merged into existing thread in Improvement.  Going forward, it's better practice to have only one thread dedicated to a deck idea going at a given time.  And as a general guideline, if you're not sure your deck idea belongs in Improvement or Open, go with Improvement.  If you're wrong, a mod can PM you or move it for you.  Good luck with everything.  -DA

I know at least that, aside from Deglamer, the sideboard is pretty awful. Deglamer is mainly for Chalices because Chalice at 0,1, and 2 really hurt this deck.

How is Deglamer helping against a chalice for 2? If anything what you are doing is returning their chalice of 0 and 1 in their deck so they can play it again lategame at 2. What's wrong with oxidize / naturalize?

How much do you combo with altar and pact? Why is this better than simply oathing and beating with angels or bouncing your opponents board with Tidespout Tyrant. You have 4 dead cards in this deck if you're not able to oath a creature.

You know why you are winning on MWS? Not because it's good but because it's a rogue deck and nobody is used to play against it. I mean, you don't even play any basic land...
I don't think this deck needs basic land and all of my wins are from going off between turns 3 and 6.

I really like the fresh idea and really want to break the djinn, but having to wait for two more combo pieces after you oathed up your fat seems sub-optimal to oathing up an angel or tyrant and ending the game right there.  Is this the Danger of Playing Cool Things?

Anyway, I really like the synergy anger would have in this deck.  Except of course, it would have to change your manabase around.

It's usually pretty easy to get those combo pieces out fast, like I said, it usually goes off around turns 3 through 6. I'll admit, Tyrant is better, but this can still win games and be competitive (probably not Tier 1) and also be a lot of fun to play.

Correct me if I am wrong, but could you use djinn illuminatus in conjunction with manamorphose to draw out your deck until you hit the pact and the altar?

All Replicate costs must be paid before any of the copies resolve.  It isn't "As long as ~this~ is on the stack, you may pay X to copy it," which would be much, much stronger.  Instead, it's "At the time you play ~this~, you may pay X any number of times.  Copy it that many times."  So you can copy Manamorphose several times to draw cards and recoup the mana, but it's not an infinite engine.
