After some weeks thinking about playing the BBS list with black discused here
http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=36446.0, I finally took Jedi Mind Twist (aka I twist, You shout) to the september tournament of the catalan vintage league due to not having enough time to playtest de BBS list.
The deck shines against control and combo (which I expected to be all around) and the sideboard was prepared to fight U/W fish and Ichorid which had been top8ing the last tournament...

I did some playtest on Friday night at a teammate home and went to the tournament, and decided to cut the 2nd han of cruelty to include darkblast, so that i can deal with welders.
Round 1 vs Marc Corbella with Pitch Long
1- He opens with duress for a turn 2 necropotence, draws 13 cards, discard lands tinker, wheel and grim tutor.
I topdeck Fow, play confidant and pass, he playes some artifact mana and rebuild, which I fow, this is enough to stop him, draws 1 card (since he is at 4 and i have confidant) but finds nothing...
SIde: I look at my Knights... nothing comes...
2- He goes swamp, sapphire, jet, brainstorm, duress duress (taking FoW and vamp), leaving me with mana duress and repeal.
I go undergroun duress taking ritual (he is holding a lot of mana), but he seems to draw onle mana and no bussines, confidant comes from the top and is too much advantage for him...

Round 2 Victor Gimenez with Drain Tendrils:
I don’t remember much of this round, but I think that both games game something like turn 3-4 twist with counter back up... (my side continues on the box...)

Round 3 Ernest sanchez with TKdeeznoughts
Ernest is a good friend, and I slept in his home the night before, so we know what are we playing against.
1- He goes tramogoyf, turn 1, duress tarmogoyf turn 2, but my sensei’s top brings me a tinker, and he cannot find the bouncer for platinum.
Side: here comes the first (and the only) card I sided in in the whole tournament (but never use it) darkblast comes to deal with his confidants.
2- he opens with confidant, and stifles my fetch, I never found black mana and my hand was something like: darkblast, twist, duress, tutor, will....
3- Very close match, time is called and in the fourth turn (mine) i’m at 2 and he has tarmo, condifant and counterbalance in play, I try to tendrils him for 10 to get a draw but he also had stifle GG.

Ronda 4 Fermin Garcia aka Juzam Djinn with Intuitive (aka DT)
Good player and better friend again... we both know what we are facing.
1- We did some turns of draw go, countering opoosing threads, he tries to resolve Will, I drain, he Fow, I FoW, EOT mystical to my will for the win.
Side: my knights look sadly at me...
2- Don’t really remember, but he drew nuts in the early turns (ancestral, akk for 3...) and combos out.
3- In this game I did a major mystake, i’m in my turn and he is tapped after playing intuition and akk for 3 and had 5 cards in hand, I have twist and drain but played twist for 5 when I could have played it for 3 keeping UU for drain. He FoWs and get control of the match... time is called and in the last turn he plays Will, i look the top 3 cards with top, a FoW comes he had no counter back up and we draw.

Round 5 Manuel Navascues with U/R painters
1- He goes turn 2 painter&grindstone with FoW and pyro back up GG
Side: knights continue sleeping
2- I open with duress: he is holding: library, mountain, mana crypt, ancestral, magus of the moon, and more blue stuff he cannot play, took ancestral and pass. He goes mountain crypt, magus (Fowed) and he never drew blue mana...
Side: I saw a welder so darkblast comes for a repeal.
3- He opens with land go, I play underground mox confidant, he plays land and grindstone which I let resolve, I play land mana crypt twist@4 he foW me too that’s game.

Round 6 Ruben Xicota with U/R painters
1- The first insane play: He open with underground ancestral in his upkeep, he goes volcanic grindstone. I play a couple of moxes, land and time walk, then play academy and Yawg, Will, replay walk draw a tone of cards and then mindtwisting him for the whole hand, GG.
Side: start thinking that knights are on strike
2- This envolves some draw go I resolve a confidnat but he had EE for him, he pyroblast my ancestral and fact, and resolves painter+grindstone but he had tu pass turn, I play a desperate tinker platinum but he is holding another pyro.
3- I go turn 1 confidant, turn 2 duress to a turn 3 twist leaving him without cards, a fer turns later tutor will for lethal tendrils.
4-1-1 13 points
Round 7 Roberto Lopez with Pitch Long
1- I counter 2 early bombs and on turn 3 he resolves necro for the win.
Side: Guess?
2- He mulls to 5, I open with duress he is holding: lotus, vault, confidant, fact and something he cannot play... I take lotus and pass
He needs a couple of turn to find mana, so he was never on the match, I resolve confidant and win thanks to the card advantage.
Side: darkblast comes for his confidants (repeal out)
3- He opens with lotus, jet, duress (taking vamp), land, ponder (nothing good on the top), so he shuflles and draw another duress and take my FoW with it. Leaving me with lands, mox and a duress.
I draw ancestral (good luck), play duress on his only card (mana crypt) and draw confidant mystical something that let my play confidant from my ancestral, then play confidant and pass.
He drew a ritual and passed (i know this from his report), in my upkeep I mystical for mana drain (nobody said this was a game for braves) and draw drain from confidant and a top. He drew tinker but my he knew i had mana drain and pass, confidant reveals lotus, and my draw step brings me a mind twist, next turn lethal tendrils FTW.
5-1-1 16 points I’m in 5th of swiis
Top 8 here it comes a chain of insane plays...
Quarters, Narcis Mir with Repeal Gifts:
Wette: underground mox tutor for ancestral pass
Narcis: library pass
Wette: ancestral (resolves) lotus, mox, tolarian, walk.
Wette: repeal on my mox, will appears and resolves: replay lotus ancesltral walk, sensei and vamp for twist.
Wette: twist for 6.
Narcis: cannot believe it.
Side: nothing.
2- On turn 4 I play a twist with lotus and underground open. He drains, then I play will to replay an ancestra and twist. Taking out will and recoup, i don’t have FoW and with the drain mana he plays recoup on will for the win.
3- I open with confidant, he developes mana and on my third turn I play twist@5 with FoW back up and that’s game.
Semis, Xavier Muntada with Slaver (intu akk engine), have you ever dream a split second yaw will? I have it.
1- On my 4th turn he is tapped after drawing 7 cards with akk and thirst, and i decide to go agressive cause if he untaps i’ll be dead.
I look top 3 with sensei, nothing relevant, crack fetch and look again, demonic appears, change top for demonic, cast demonic for will, and play it with UB floating and mana crypt open, he plays intuition for 3 FoW and counters will... no I can look with top hoping a FoW comes, or play tendrils for 16 leaving him at 2 with mana crypt in game. I decided to play tendrils.
His crypt doesn’t kill him and then he cast the third intuition to: will, tinker, gorilla shaman. I live the shaman, he takes his crypt and my moxes.
We stard draw going, he plays 2 welders, and stars beating, i’m drawing nothing but mana, but finally find ocnfidant, play it, now hi beats with welders and shaman stays untapped to block, confidante reveals double repeal, I bounce shaman and attack with confidant FTW (in 7 turns he drew 2 welders and 5 mana producers)
Side: darkblast in, repeal out.
2- here it comes the greatest play of the day. He keept a hand with 1 fetch and no more mana, I counter his ancestral, and then he fow’s a confidant... he had a volcanic, 2 tormod’s into play and 3 cards in hand, I hace a tone of mana, confidnat and top... so the game is mine...
But i was so anxious for killing him early so that i can have a cigarrete or something before the other semifinal ends that I drew Yaw Will an thought (that’s done), so I convincely reveal it and ask, will comes?
Xavi said: oh god... you drew it, yes it comes.
So I pick my graveyard and then Xavi says: Fuck! What i’ve done!, i look on his side and saw 2 TORMOD?S crypt... (spli second rulez...) i play time walk, he cracks tormod’s in response, I respond with ancestralm he responds with tormod’s, i respond with mystical...
My mystical+ancestral brings me tinker, tinker for platinum FTW
Final: David Masip with Bomberman
1- He opens with library, I go land a lot of mana and top, he is outdrawing me with library so on turn three I look 3 wiht top, revealing repeal, another top, tendrils. Draw repeal and play it, draw the second top, then exchange the first top for tendrils, then i go replaying tops a couple of times to make somes torm, adn play tendrils leaving him at 2 lives...
He then goes down form library and stard developing mana... he plays trinket and tinkers for collosus (i have 3 turns thanks to tendrils). The first turn top 3 cards are: twist, land, mox. Draw twist he drains.
Attacks and passes, top reveals land, mox, and another twist. Try to twist him again but he drains. Attacks an passes. Now top reveals land mox, and repeal, play repeal, look again and Will apperars...
I play will, David looks with his top, nothing comes, cracks fetch (he is now at 1) look again FoW appears but he cannot play it... so lucky...
Side: what is this?
2- I go mana mox confidant. David opens with library again. I go land, mox, top, duress: He had a lot of business including FoW and 2 drains but only a tundra and a lotus as blue producers, i take lotus and pass.
He draws from library play tundra pass. I draw, play brainstorn, now my hand is FoWx3 mystical and repeal, I pass.
He draws from turn, from library and plays sapphire, ruby and sol ring. I play EOT repeal on his sapphire, in my turn mystical for Twist, change top for twist, play twist@7 double FoW back up, GG.
So I take and unlimited ancestral recall and my ticket for the final of the league.
