Mike, will Shards be legal for this event, since it is the same day as the release event?

40+ players: 5th place - 8th place: Shards of Alara Draft Set

Hey Mike,
I know its always been your policy to make a profit on tournaments and I respect that...
but this is a little insulting.

Your prize payout is $650. (2x wawa GC)
You're charging $25 a head.
You need 26 players to break even.

If you get 40 players you would be making $350 profit.
I'd hope if you had 40+ players you'd up the prize more than the 12 booster packs ($36-$48) that most vintage players probably don't care about.

I didn't factor in your overhead because its unknown to me but I also didn't factor in the additional profit from the T2, EDH, Side events, and dealer table.

After coming off the huge 61 man tournament you had last month and the fact that you are closing in on 30 events, a feat few to no vintage TO's can boast, it'd be nice to see a little more generosity towards your vintage scene.

Only 1 week until our next event, looking forward to another great turn-out!.

Yes, Shards will be legal at this event. And I am always open to looking at restructuring the prizes based on attendance as we did by upgrading to the the Time Walk plus the other additions at the last event. I always have to be on the conservitive side on the initial postings just to CYA.
