Long time lurker, first time poster. Mods: This may be off-topic as I have bent the rules a little, but I think the subject is relevant to the forum. If this belongs in Casual, I apologize.
I don't play Magic. That is, I only played in one tournament, at Neutral Ground (where I met Alex Shvartsmann and Seth Burn, what nice guys) about 15 years ago. That being said, I've examined every card release,to find new cards to complete my quest, which is, to create a 30-card deck that can goldfish on turn 1 with a frequency over 95%. I read these boards all the time as well, looking for new ideas. I abide by all Vintage restrictions, assume the opponent has 7 cards, and no counters, although any effect that causes the "opponent" to draw cards is not allowed. The best I have done is around 90%. What is interesting is these decks can be expanded to 60 cards in some cases ( I do the same game with 60 cards, best I've done here is about 65%). Btw, I remember testing that Meandeck Tendrils list that gunned for turn 1, couldn't get my win percentage above 60%.
Here is one of my ~90% performers:
1 Black Lotus 1 Lotus Petal 1 Mana Crypt 1 Mana Vault 1 Mox Sapphire 1 Mox Ruby 1 Mox Emerald 1 Chrome Mox 4 Elvish Spirit Guide 3 Simian Spirit Guide 1 Horizon Canopy
4 Manamorphose 4 Street Wraith 1 Ancestral Recall 4 Slithermuse 1 Tendrils of Agony
This is just a straightforward Storm deck. Manamorphose is some card. Cantrips are very powerful in a 30-card deck.
Here is another, I call Necro Red:
1 Black Lotus 1 Lotus Petal 1 Lion's Eye Diamond 1 Mox Jet 3 Land Grant 1 Taiga 1 Bayou 1 Chrome Mox 3 Simian Spirit Guide
4 Dark Ritual 4 Cabal Ritual
1 Demonic Tutor 4 Rhystic Tutor 1 Necropotence 1 Yawgmoth's Will 1 Tendrils of Agony 1 Final Fortune
This deck can win either by the Yawg Will route, or at instant speed at the end of your turn by casting/tutoring Necro, drawing 19 cards, then using 2 SSGs at eot to cast Final Fortune, discarding everything but seven good cards to win with next turn.
I have a bunch of other ideas as well, some of which may have application in the real Vintage scene, but this is probably too long as it is. As I don't expect to ever play, I will enjoy posting them here . Also, if anyone else does something like this, I'd love to know.
