Time for another hardcore Vintage tournament.  This time it's for an Unlimited Ancestral Recall in NM condition!  Some would say the card is better than NM and is actually in Mint condition.  Come in the store and see it for yourself.

BLACK GOLD
8501 W. Bowles Ave.
Southwest Plaza Mall
Littleton, CO 80123
(303) 936-3660

WHEN: Sunday, March 22nd
REGISTRATION: 9:00am - 10:45am
ROUND 1: 11:00am
ENTRY FEE: $20.00

A short lunch break will follow round 2.

Deck registration is required as this is a DCI sanctioned event.  NO PROXYS ALLOWED.
There will be a T8 playoff to determine prizes.

PRIZES*
Based on 24 participants
1st place: Unlimited Ancestral Recall (Mint/NM condition)
Best performing unpowered deck: $40 store credit

Based on 32 participants we will add the following to the prize fund....
2nd place: x4 Volcanic Island (Revised)
3rd place: x4 Force of Will

*Black Gold reserves the right to adjust the prize fund based on participation.

DON'T MISS OUT ON THE ACTION.  THE NEXT BIG EVENT IS NOT UNTIL SEPTEMBER!

This tournament anouncement needs a bump.  It is just a little over two weeks away.  Also, we will be using another location in the mall for this event so there will be plenty of room for everyone.  Players will still need to go to the store first to pay and register.

Thanks for keeping Colorado Vintage alive Carl!

I wrecked my car a week ago so hopefully I don't have to sell my power for this event. If not I will be wrecking everyone else and that Recall will pay for a nice chunk of my cars. I'll see anyone whose brave enough to show up on Mar. 22nd.

I don't know exactly what the prizes will be if we get less than 24.  I've got enough good stuff to make it work.  I will also add to the prize fund if we get over 24 and if it reaches 32 then you know what to expect.   I've been getting a lot of interest in this event.  More than usual. So lets hope for 32+ people.

BUMP.

Just one week away and with all the talk I hear (and it's just talk) we should get near 30 players.

Hey there Carl,

We are getting really close to game time and I have not actually been to the new store yet, where exactly is this located in the mall?

I can say that I will have myself and two others with me for this excellent event. Thanks for hosting.

Will Bazaar count as power for the unpowered prize?

Also, because this will be sanctioned, I assume that any b/r changes tomorrow will have to be enforced, correct?

I'd say that Mana Drain, Mishra's Workshop, Bazaar of Bagdhad, Imperial Seal, Illusionary Mask, Grim Tutor, Library of Alexandria are still considered 'unpowered'.  I'd just call 'em real damn good.  But then again I'm not running anything.

We are now located on the 2nd floor right smack dab in the middle of the mall.  Best place to park is by Panera Bread.

@wobbles - Bazaar of Baghdad is NOT part of the Power 9 cards so it will qualify for the unpowered prize.

@Lou - Do you know how to play with power?  Be careful - they're tricksy - you may end up going 0-x-x  Wink

Sounds like you hosted another sweet tourney Carl!!  I was sad to read this thread and find that you would not be hosting any tournaments all summer though.  I have been on lockdown with a full school schedule, a full time job and a two year old son and will finally have some weekends free this summer for some good ol' T1 beats.  I know Ed has been having a tourney here and there in Boulder but all in all it seems we need more tourney's!  Is there a Colorado MTG T1 email list or group online somewhere that notifies people of upcoming events?  It would be savage if one of the more technologicaly literate MTG'rs could throw something like that together so that we would all know about all the events!!
On a side note, shouldn't any card over $200 be counted as power if you are offering a non powered prize?  I mean seriously are you trying to encourage Lou to play his darn dredge deck?  "Hey Lou, why don't you play dredge, win yourself a Recall and $40!"  I mean Lou is one UGLY MOFO but he can play dredge quite well, lets not encourage him.
