Inkwell Leviathan   7UU
Artifact Creature - Leviathan
Islandwalk, trample, shroud
"Into it's maw went the seventh sea, never to be seen again while the world remains." -Esper Fable
7/11

Revealed few minutes ago and a possible contender for the tinker-kill fka DSC. Bounce and StoP Protection confirmed but at least a round slower than DSC; moreover pitchable to FoW, but is the fact that it's blue and untargetable worth the slower clock? Against combo-disrupting decks like fish also packed with StoP's this one could be huge for beatdown instead of DSC (both via Tinker, of course)

Well I could definately see this as being a replacement for DSC in certain decks. The fact that it can not be targeted by STP, Path to exile, E.Truth, Chain of vapor, as well as random other things like rushing river mean that it is going to stay in play. It's 11 ass makes it an ideal blocker for well, everything in vintage (except DSC). It also essentially has unblockable as there are many decks that run islands. I could definately see the advantages this has over colossus.

Colossus however can force the opponent to make decisions faster, often more hastier, however is 3 turns really a difference when your creature has islandwalk, shroud, and trample?

The main issue I'd have with it is that it doesn't shuffle back into your deck like DSC would.  Otherwise, I'd run it over DSC.

If this card is exactly has said before, I think its actually really good.  Big bad robot that pitches to FoW, not to shabby if you know what i mean.  The biggest draw back, as mentioned before, is that it does not shuffle back into the deck.  This means no sick TFK rips, which by the way, is why DSC is totally awesome, aside from the totally crushing the opponent aspect.  This is making me wonder whether or not one would prefer to switch to the INT/Ak package, if they were running this guy, or would they still use TFK due to the fact he was still an artifact.  Another thing that peeks my curiosity, would any one actually run both? I mean i doubt alot of players would devote any of their coveted MD slots to unnecessary cards, but I could definitely see the advantage of running this guy in the board.

overall i think in a deck where tinker grabs it,DSC is still king tho not by much.
My question would be is how would this dude play in oath?

Eh, it gives me 3 turns to beat my opponent rather than just 2.  Pitching to FoW is hardly a concern since any deck that runs it already has plenty of cards to do that with.  It's a nice novelty, but DSC is still better.

He is weldable, though. Maybe a good fit for slaver?

9-Sphere-aggro would hate his mana cost...

The fact that it's not shuffling back itself like DSC restricts only it's value in decks that run T4K. In such decks (Slaver obviously too) DSC is still much better.

@Troy: I only consider it as alternative win-condition against control while playing combo myself. If I tinker it up against any other fast combo decks I guess I did something wrong. But again, while play'n versus Fish & Co. this could be a very, very easy route to victory.....
