Can we make this a Legacy tournament instead? With the upcoming Legacy GP Chicago it just seems about 500,323 times more relevant to play Legacy the next 2 months than Vintage. You might actually get more people too.

Can we change this thread to one of the 10,213 about "I don't really know jack about the format, so what deck should I play in this upcoming tournament?" Those are my favorite threads. Here, I'll start (editor's comments in [brackets]), and you can select from the multiple options below.
I
a) mainly swing with d00ds in Standard, and just started playing Vintage,
b) haven't played in a long time [and probably sucked when I did],
c) only really have the cards to build Affinity and Dredge [because I spend the rest of my money on eating at Burger King/Taco Hell/JFKFC and throwing the little rings on fake milk bottles at the county fair],
so what would be good for me [a nooblet] to play this weekend?
I've been doing a lot of reading on these boards [and by a lot I mean I've spent like 16 minutes a week] lately, and it seems like the following would be the best options for me:
a) TPS, because I think Duress and Force of Will are good [and because that's what Stephen Q. Mennendian would play]
b) Elves, because I like d00dsweats [and because that's what Rich Shay would play, and besides, Control Slaver is played out]
c) some [terrible] deck with Strategic Planning and/or High Tide, because everyone jacks off Strategic Planning [and because that's what Brian DeMars would play]
d) some [terrible] deck with Mind Twist, because Mind Twist FTW [and because that's what Jaco and some Spaniards and Italians would play]
e) Oath, because it seems good, and easy to play, and I can get the cards for it cheaply [and because that's what ICBM would do]
I don't really know what my "metagame" is going to be like [because I don't play enough, and because I'm not sure "metagame" is a real word outside of the Magic world], but I expect there to be the usual suspects like TPS, Tezzeret, Fish, and Workshop. There might be someone playing something related to "MyNuTs" or some secret tech like that too. I heard it through the grapevine.
