Alright, so i'm a little annoyed with the time our local multiplayer games take...so i thought i might make some sort of "Chaos" deck centered around cards that speed things up! Smile The point is not to win, but to cause alot of havoc.

Cards that spring to mind are:
Heartless hidetsugu - Just plain "mean" Smile
Ankh of mishra
Furnace of rath
Sulfuric vortex - A must, life gain is in almost every casual deck around here...Martyrs, drain life effects, illusions of grandeur, etc. etc.
Grand melee - Also good for causing alot of havoc and tearing defensive strategies apart.
Pandemonium
Wheel of fate - Reloading everyone's hand should cause some sort of actions from everyone.
Manabarbs

However, i'm unsure how to build such a deck, and i also need a defensive mechanism to keep me alive aswell as some way to win! (furnace of rath + Heartless hidetsugu is cute though)

I need some sort of decklist to build from, has any of you had a similar deck that worked? Smile

Furncae + Rite won't kill someone (unless they're at ten life, then the combo would put them at -10 life).

Ensnaring Bridge could be good defense if you drop your hand quickly.  Or you could blow up the board every now and then with Starstorm, Earthquake, Oblivion Stone, Nev's Disk, etc.

I did think of ensnaring bridge, problem is that it simply shuts everyone out of attacking...i only want them to not attack ME! The whole point is to force them to do SOMETHING Smile

Actually, i think i'll cut bedlam from the list and use grand melee instead.

Power Surge is good.  It encourages everyone to tap out every turn, and if they don't, it can add up a lot of damage fast.  The only concern is if your deck, which is full of overcosted red enchantments, will be able to tap all of its own lands often enough Razz  I would also consider running Spinerock Knoll, because all of the craziness going on is bound to turn it on pretty early, and a lot of your enchantments are expensive enough to make its ability attractive.

As for how to survive, I'd suggest going into green.  Green is good at defending an setting up, with cards like Vine Trellis, Wall of Blossoms/Carven Caryatid, and Yavimaya Elder.  And if you are still hard up for mana to cast your big red cards, you could try Explosive Vegetation or similar; if you have a playset of Birds or don't mind buying them, those are clearly awesome here.

Green is actually a good idea, with cards like moment's peace people might be encouraged to send their creatures other ways.

Blockers might not work too well, considering grand melee.

problem with splashing is that i really don't intend to spend alot on this deck (getting pain lands, shocklands, cob's etc. is rather annoying), it's just for breaking up long multiplayer games.

Crawlspace could make it so the attacks to you are limited.
Also when I see the title "red chaos" the immediate card that comes to mind is Warp World!
