You guys are all scrubs.

I'm not terribly impressed by the state of Vintage when I can just waltz in after not playing for 6 months, pick up a random deck (Stax, which I hate), and split the finals with no trouble at all.

Thanks for the $175, barns.

I attended the Windy City Comics event a few weeks ago, and only 6 people showed up.

Dan split with Soly and gave him the bye.  13 people showed up, so I borrowed a deck from Jamison and played.  A heartfelt thanks to the people who did show up.  From memory:

Mike Solymossy
me
Daniel Carp
Danny Friedman
Tommy Kolowith
Jamison Bryant
Matt Friewald
Nathan Lisko
Shawn Williams
Derek Wochinsky
Jason Jaco
Ryan Dubois
James King
Jimmy McCarthy

You guys are all-stars.

Why is the summer attendence so freakin low?

I played RGW Aggro against 4 Workshop decks and one TEZ in 5 rounds. Shop beat beat it pretty well.

Earned a (tied for 5th) Thoughtseize for going 2-3 on the day. Wish the turnout was better - But another well run event Ben - thanks!

I wrecked Matt Friewald and beat Danny Friedman.
Lost to Dan Carp twice and Nathan in 6 games.

Even with the low turnout, the people competing were still the best in the States.

Round 1:  Jimmy McCarthy  Tezz 0-2

Round 2:  (I forgot, but he was playing Tezz)  2-0

Round 3:  Jaco  Painter 2-1

Round 4: Nathan  MonoU Shop Aggro  ID

Top 8:  Jimmy McCarthy Tezz 2-0

Top 4: Tommy Kolowith Remora Tezz 2-1

Finals:  Dan Carp Stax (he scoops)

I get a UL Time Vault and a Round 1 Bye at the ICBM Xtreme open for my troubles.

What did JACO's painter list look like? Was it filled with Repeals and Mindtwists?

Twaun, check Team Serious forum if you want my list. It was probably the second best painter deck I've ever seen, only behind the Magus Painter deck I played in Connecticut. It was absolutely savage for this field, but when your opponent draws savagely you sometimes lose. If I could have played in 50 tournaments the last time people could play Thirst For Knowledge, I would play the exact same 75 cards all 50 times.
