Okay, since budget decks are getting discussed in the development forum I think it's not a bad idea to try and make a similar budget deck while staying mono white.

This deck will be made with the same budgetary rule's as Steven's decklist, meaning no cards that cost more than a goyf.

First up: The Creature's that come to mind:

Ethersworn canonist: Hose's combo like a champ

Glowrider: Thorn of amethyst on a stick, but doesn't get bounced by rebuild and hurkyl's.

Jotun Grunt: Somewhat slow for ichorid hate, but still provides a decent clock while eating away welder target's and killing yards so Y-Will becomes less effective)

Samurai Of The Pale Curtain: Hose's ichorid like a champ (no cards go to the graveyard from play, so no token's and ichorid stays away)

Aven Mindsencor: Screws with Fetch, and all tutor's, really good against Tezz and Combo

Kataki, War's wage: The pain in the but for shop decks

Children of korlis: Make's combo take a while longer (finding bounce take's longer) and give's ichorid harder times by removing bridge's and gaining life to race.

Icatian javelineers: Ping's confidant's and other 1 toughness creature's.

Kami of Ancient Law/Ronom Unicorn: Kills annoying enchantment's but that about it.

Mother of rune's: So you want to bounce my glowrider? tap....

Hokori, Dust Drinker : on the expensive side, but with null rod, chalice and glowrider+Thorn your opponent will be slowed down a lot

I bet there's more but I can't think of any more...

On to the instant's:

Swords to plowshare's: Does it really need explenation?

Path To Exile: Give them a time walk because of life gain, or give them their land right away? make your pick...

Disenchant: Kills a lot of annoying stuf Smile

Orim's chant: Staple combo hoser.

Abeyance: see orim's chant but not so staple...

Enchantment's:

Ghostly prison: stalls aggro

Seal of cleansing: see disenchant

Aura of silence: one sided sphere for shop decks.

Sorcery's:

Tafiff: our answer to inkwell.

Armageddon: with sphere's and rider's around this could be pretty painful

Artifact's:

Chalice of the Void:  seems obvious

Null Rod: See Chalice

AEther Vial: pretty nice when you're not running rod

Sword of fire and ice: ads to our clock and give's us card draw. Again, not whith null rod.

Thorn of amethyst: since we rely on our disruptive creature's to win, this thingy doesn't bother us all that much.

Pithing needle: pretty good all round.

Tormod's crypt/Relic of progenitus: standard ichorid hate (the latter one cantrip's buts cost's 2 to activate, and the first one's free)

Trinisphere: hose's combo more than any other

Crucible of worlds: when you like the waste/strip lock

Chrome mox: not to good with chalice and null rod, but maybe nice in a more stompy oriented style of deck.

Mox diamond: when you try to go like the legacy stax builds.

Possible lands:

Plains (hidden secret tech for white decks)

Flagstone's of trokair: if we decide to run armageddon

Wasetland: fit's if you're going with mana denial

Strip^mine (wasteland nr 5)

Ancient tomb/City of traitor's: when you take the deck in a more (Angel)Stompy(/Stax) kind of way

Ok, so looks like mono white has the tools to be competitive since there are so many options (and I've probably forgotten a lot of those), it all come's down to Testing and feedback.

Decklist's will be up soon, but for now i would just like to see what OTHER'S can think of when trying to build a white (Weeny) deck.

Greetzzzz,

Robin.

There is another white weenie thread on the first page of this forum already. I would think the differences in a budget version and powered version would be cutting black lotus and mox pearl. I'd check out the other thread as it is a couple pages worth of posts on the topic already.

Nether Void is absolutely terrible. I can't envision any game I've played with The Deck where I would have wanted everything to be mana leaked.

Loyal Sentry and Sculpting Steel are possibilities as well to deal with Inkwell

The Grunt and Samurai may be fighting over the graveyard.

The dis-synergy isn't that aweful since the samurai only works for pernanents going to the graveyard, so instant's, sorcery's, countered stuff and dredged cards still end up in the yard, the samurai just stop's ichorid dead in it's track's by shutting down ichorid and bridge's.

The grunt is used mainly for cheap beatz and to keep your opponent from pimping out his graveyard for Y-will , feeding of their draw 7's becaus the grunt on itself is way to slow to stop ichorid, so we need the extra help from samurai (we don't want them to dread return a bigass fatty...)

To be honest the grunt suffers a lot more from ethaersworn cannonist and sphere effect's since they prevent players to get multiple spell's end getting multiplecards in the graveyard.
