i'm starting to think this was a joke, sounded too good to be true anyway.

Anyone have an idea when we might get some spoilers or a possible release date?

The Arcana announcing it.

It's out August 28th, probably with a sneak peak at GenCon again this year.

As far as spoilers go, the announcement pretty much confirms Balance, and there's an advertisement on the back of tokens in M10 that strongly suggests Berserk. That's it for spoilers so far.

that's awesome but Berserk is unrestricted Sad any great re-prints of a 4-off will be a real bitch to obtain. greedy bastards could have put great cards like this in M10

It is said there were once fifteen Magic: The Gathering cards so potent, they were banned or restricted from the known realms of competition.

I guarantee you, Berzerk used to be restricted (as was Mishra's Workshop)

yea i know, but what does it matter if it's not restricted now? if it's playable as a 4-off i guess you'll need to be buying 4 box-sets lol, kinda kills the point of a box of singletons don't you think?

If it was playable as a 4-of people would have been / already be buying Unlimited ones, or proxying them.  I don't see Beserk being played much at all right now, and definitely not as a four-of.

Also, I believe there was a quote from a WOTC person awhile ago saying the Land Tax would be available soon online, which means it will either be in FTV:E, or in the next online-only reprint edition (Masters Edition 3?  I don't play online.)  I wouldn't count Land Tax as confirmed for FTV:E though.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

i don't remember Mana Drain ever getting banned or restricted if this card is a possibility. i guess they're counting Legacy too then?

I realize it's not played much now, but the $50+ price tag doesn't help. If Berserk was a M10 rare i think you'd start to see it being played as a multiple as people would start to experiment with it more. All i'm saying is it being a 1-off in this boxset probably won't help to bring down the price.

Let's look at Mana Drain, most people who proxy them or don't own them is likely due to the price. if they re-print one in each set the aftermarket price will not even budge as everyone who needs them will need to cover 4 individual box-sets which are already limited. Won't the price of one of these boxsets alone be more then just buying a nice Legends Mana Drain?

So far, we've got 'almost confirmed' as Balance and Berserk, based on artworks and Arcana for FtV:E...Any suggestions as to what else could be included?
