My cycle of cards utilizing warped versions of old mechanics is almost halfway complete.  The black and blue versions of cards are fairly where I would like them to be (minus some power level balancing on the blue one) and now for one I'm very excited about.

The wording on this card is potentially confusing so I would love assistance here if possible.  The basic logic here is a warped version of imprint that allows a player playing this card to tutor for a copy of a card essentially imprinted on any copy of this card that has been played already this game.

Behold:

Goblin Salvage Master
{3} {R}
Creature - Goblin Shaman

As an additional cost for Goblin Salvage Master remove a permanent in your graveyard from the game.
When Goblin Salvage Master comes into play you may search your library for a copy of a permanent removed from the game by Goblin Salvage Master and put it into play, if you do,  flip a coin.  If the flip ends up in your favor, sacrifice Goblin Salvage Master,
otherwise sacrifice the permanent put into play by Goblin Salvage Master.

2/1

Current Version:

Goblin Salvage Master
{3} {R}
Creature - Goblin Artificer

When this comes into play, you may search your library for a card with the same name as target artifact card in a graveyard.  If you do, flip a coin.  If you win the flip, put the searched card into play and sacrifice Goblin Salvage Master.  Shuffle your library.  (If you lose, the card stays in your library.)
3/2

This card is pretty confusing and doesn't really fit in red.

* What's with "a permanent removed from the game by a Goblin Salvage Master?" So you can search for things removed by other Goblin Salvage Masters?  Even your opponents'?
* This lets red regrow and tutor lands and enchantments.  That's unprecedented.  Why does it do this?
* Ignoring the fact that you have to have another copy in your library for a second, this basically says "Pay 3R to randomly get a permanent out of your graveyard or a 2/1."  Effects that swingy generally aren't fun.
* This is written with pre-M10 templating.

Maybe try making this into a one-shot Goblin Welder?

WOW is this good with Sundering Titan. Tinker it out, and maybe even sac it too, blowing more shit up? I'd actually WANT to lose the coinflip a lot of the time.

For balance reasons the coin flip could determine if the tutored card even hits play...  Worst comes to worse it can only search for it's own imprinted card, that isn't a loss in my eyes.

The basic flavor of this card as a red card is the Goblin Salvager attempts to reconstruct something lost and in the process may be destroyed by his new creation.

The flavor strongly suggests you should only be able to get artifacts.  It's a cool effect, but the flavor needs to change I think.

Also, is it your intention that playing a second one lets you re-use the first one?  That's really realy weird, and I'm not sure how much benefit you get for the complexity.  They work in multiples like this, right:
#1 comes into play, searches up a permanent, puts it into play and sacrifices it.
#2 comes into play, searches up a permanent removed by #1, and puts it into play, then either sacrifices it or itself (but not Salvage Master #1 right?)

That's weird, and it gets complicated with different Salvage Masters doing different things in the effect.  It's also intended to work such that if the original dies, you can still make copies of it, right?  It also doesn't work in the rules.  Personally I'd rather just have him operate on himself.

Also, the RFGing a card should be an ASCIP instead of an additional cost.  It makes more sense I think.

Reword it thusly:
As this enters the battlefield, exile a permanent card in your graveyard.
When this enters the battlefield, you may search your library for a copy of a permanent exiled by this and put it onto the battlefield.  If you do, flip a coin.  If you win the flip, sacrifice Goblin Salvage Master.  Otherwise sacrifice the permanent put onto the battlefield.

It's already long and complicated enough as it is, I think.

Alright, I like the way you've worded it, I was quite interested in making it work with any permanent but it'd probably be very off flavor (for the card and color) if players were grabbing say, an enchantment...

With that in mind I'd like to go towards tuning the card at this point, both mana cost,  power toughness, and tutorable permanent types that are acceptable.

Any wording on this is going to be kind of awkward, because it has to tell the player to shuffle their library only if they searched for the card.  Here's my take on what I hope is a simpler version.

Goblin Reconstructor
3R
3/2
When this comes into play, you may search your library for a card with the same name as target artifact card in a graveyard.  If you do, flip a coin.  If you win the flip, put the searched card into play.  If you searched your library, shuffle it.  (If you lose, the card stays in your library.)

I nixed letting this be "Flash" or "Entomb" for artifacts since that just seems to be asking for trouble.  I let it target your opponent's yard because it seems more interactive that way.  I made it a 3/2 creature that you get to keep regardless of what happens, because if this guy is going to be mythic he should at least be able to tussle with Steamflogger Boss.  I'd rather see this guy be "all upside".

Based on Clarion Ultimatum, you can have them shuffle even if they didn't search.  I see no problem with this being just a free shuffle if they want to use it that way.

Alright, we'll make this guy a bit bigger but he won't be playing ball with Sundering Titan.  Seems fair to me.

Given that he's just messing with artifacts now, should he be an Artificer rather than a Shaman?
