Sadistic Sacrament was the biggest question mark for me of the whole set.   They key is to look at what I recommended people purchase:

Quote
Here is your Vintage checklist for Zendikar:

4 Misty Rainforest
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Verdant Catacombs
4 Marsh Flats
4 Arid Mesa
4 Spell Pierce
1 Iona, Shield of Emeria
1 Sphinx of Lost Truths
4 Mindbreak Trap
4 Ravenous Trap
4 Bloodghast

And if you haven’t spent your whole budget, pick up 4 Sadistic Sacrament as well. I know this may seem like a big list of cards for the average Vintage player, but most of these cards are investments in the future that will be well worth it.

I recommended that people pick up Sad Sac, if they could afford it.   I think my predictions were almost pinpoint accurate, except that I should have recommended Sad Sac with slightly more enthusiasm.  Sad Sac is definitely deserving of being fully on that list, not just a "get it if you got everything" else buy.   I underestimated how strong Sad Sac would be in the metagame, and I'm not even sure it's reached it's full potential yet.

Sad Sac has shown up in places that I wouldn't have imagined, like Vroman's Oath SB as an answer to other Sad Sacs.    The omnipresence of Bob limits the full power of Sad Sac, but it's proven to be by far the best Jester's cap effect in Vintage.
