Hey there!

Well, I am new to themanadrain.com and actually I am new to Vintage.

I am planning to get a little into Vintage after playing almost Legacy.

Here's the decklist that I've chosen to begin with for powered meta:

Lands:21

4x Bayou
1x Swamp
1x Forest
4x Verdant Catacombs
2x Marsh Flats
4x Forbidden Orchard
4x Wasteland
1x Strip Mine

Creatures:3

1x Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund
2x Hellkite Overlord

Noncreature Spells:36

4x Oath of Druids
1x Crop Rotation
1x Regrowth
4x Dark Ritual
4x Duress
4x Hymn to Tourach
3x Thoughtseize
4x Sinkhole
4x Chalice of the Void
2x Null Rod
1x Demonic Tutor
1x Demonic Consultation
1x Necropotence
1x Vampiric Tutor
1x Yawgmoth's Will

- What do you think of the build in general?

- Do you think the B/G version is viable?

- What are your critics/suggestions for improvement of the deck?

Cheers

Can you tell us more about this "powered meta?"  What decks do you expect to face?  And what kinda of sideboard are you using?  This will allow people to make better suggestions.

In general, however, I think that your deck could benefit from some maindeck artifact destruction, like Oxidize, since it is important to have an out to Chalice at 2, and artifact destruction is useful against most decks.  Diabolic Edict could also be useful, to deal with opposing Sphinx of the Steel Wind or Inkwell Leviathan, which can be annoying blockers that allow Tezz the time to combo out.  I also think Lotus Petal could be a good addition, to enable turn 1 Oath/Hymn/Sinkhole.  I would probably want to go up to 3 Null Rod, since it is better denial than Chalice when you are on the draw.

The B/G build is an interesting way to take the deck, visa the hand disruption and mana denial.  My only concern is that you may have problems consistently finding Oath+Orchard before your opponent is able to recover--has this been an issue in testing?

We have rather cyclic discussion, and I fully believe that someone so inclined could create a rather accurate computer program which could do a fine job impersonating any of us.
