This is a cycle of planeswalkers related to the character from whom I take my user name. They all have broken abilities but I think they approach being balanced. The first one, which has by far least powerful abilities, is, interestingly, the most playable IMHO. The middle two have effects that basically say: you win the game, but in a more flavorful fashion.

Killane, Seer of the Endless Depths

1UB

Planeswalker - Killane

+1: Look at the top 3 cards of your library and put them back in any order
+1: Look at the top 2 cards of your opponent's library and put them back in any order
-8: look at all cards in your library and put them back in any order. For the rest of the game, if you would shuffle your library, you may instead choose not to shuffle your library.

3

Killane Ascendant

UUBBBRR

Planeswalker - Killane

Shroud
Killane is Indestructible

+3: Sacrifice all other permanants you control, then exile your hand and graveyard. You must control at least 1 permanent and have at least 1 card in your hand to activate this ability.
- 2: Gain control of two target permanants.
-11: Exile your opponent's hand, graveyard, and library.

7

Killane, Akashic Mage

2UBR

Shroud
You have no maximum hand size.

+1: Skip your next draw step. Until you take a draw step, if you would discard a card or exile a card from your hand, you may choose to instead put that card on top of your library.
-2:  The next time you would draw a card, you may instead search your library for a card and put it into your hand. if you do, shuffle your library afterwards.
-9: Draw your library, then choose 7 cards from your hand and put them on top of your library in any order.

4

Killane, Guildmaster of the Order

WRBU

Shroud.
For the rest of the game, you can't cast spells.

+1: For the rest of the game, creatures cannot attack you.
+1: Choose a color. For the rest of the game, you have protection from that color.
+0: Killane deals 3 damage to target creature or player. You may activate this ability as an instant.
-3: Exile or gain control of target permanant. You cannot use this ability if Killane has 3 loyalty counters on him.

The second one would have a real hard time getting to activate its ultimate.

Also, planeswalkers can't have shroud, thats just silly

Why not just say, "target player loses the game"? It's the same thing. :/

Planeswalkers really shouldn't have any abilities apart from the loyalty activated abilities. I also would be surprised if a 4-ability planeswalker could fit on a card.

I don't think Epic on a Planeswalker does what you want it to.  You do remember that Epic makes you copy the spell right?  You could never get to use the -3.

Everything Matt says is also true.

You realize the +3 would cause you to sacrifice Killane right?

ok, I didn't do a good job with this cycle. I think I can admit that.

Removed Epic and added- for the rest of the game, you cannot play spells.

edited wording on the sacrifice ability (all other permanents...)

why do you think planeswalkers should not have non-loyalty abilities? I understand it hasn;t been done, but why should it be impossible?

It's not impossible; the rules DO support it. But it's a bad design, because it's distracting from the meat of the card, which are the loyalty abilities.

The key to good design is simplicity and focus of purpose.  I think these cards are missing that.  None of these cards are fun or interesting in the slightest.  They're just "OMG POWER OVERWHELMING" sort of stuff.
