Ouch, that Lace hurt. At least the Regrowth and the Fork are somewhat nice to get in Beta. I like this sort of video and how the Opener revealed the cards with little breaks one by one. Isn't everybody from us dreaming of finding some forgotten Beta booster on a flee market for a few bucks  Wink Would you sell, would you open it? Nice choice ...

Fun watch.  Honestly, even just for the nostalgia of seeing cards like that being opened and remembering what it was like when Magic had first come out.  I had never opened anything that old, but those cards were the majority of our pool back then, in some form or another.

It never ceases to amaze how old cards from Beta feel.  They seem like ancient relics or something...from 1993.  Great stuff.

I started with Revised, so most/all of that Starter brings back memories to me. I remember that the town I was in at the time received so little cards (apart from Fallen, we were drowned in those) that we had to borrow Basic lands from the few players that had extra of those.

One of my friends got both a Juggernaut as well as a Black Vise in his Starter deck. Let me tell you, getting hit by a first turn Vise when you are playing a 80 cards 5-color "deck" with 20 or so lands isn't exactly fair. Smile

I still have a couple of those Revised Starter boxes lying around, in spite of a 10-years hiatus.

Wow, think that knife is big enough?

Also, pretty much soul crushing to open Deathlace.

Nice video, though.

@ Corivn: Oh yeah, I played a four Black Vise, four Strip Mine, four Nether Void decks as well at some point. It was so annoying for the opponents  Wink

@ I_set_fire: I remember as well that it broke my heart to give away all these nice GOLDEN cards from Legends to get my first Mox, the Jet. But it was the right choice, I still have this nice black jewel.

JAY WEBB GOT CRUSHED!  but seriously, i remeber the FNM where he was super excited that he won that, and turns out he got dominated by deathlace.  Speaking of building a beta set, I still have a beta N.Disk that he never got from me.   Sad
