I'm attacking the darkness!

After creating my other card Palindromate, I really liked the idea of giving a spell on the stack Split Second and what that might mean for design space and card creation.  Here is what I came up with:

Word of Summoning
{G} ({G}/ {U})
 - Instant -
Split Second / Target creature spell has Split Second.

----------

This guarantees a creature of your choice resolves. Even better is the ability to cast unanswerable strings of spells as long as you lead off with a creature.

I dislike it on the grounds that blue really doesn't need even more ways of screwing people the minute they touch the stack. It's not just a matter of making things uncounterable, it makes them unanswerable.

Bolt targeting Frozen Shade. Creature dies. Lame.

There's a reason blue is widely accepted as the strongest color in older formats. I don't think it's a good idea to push even further in that direction.

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.

I could easily see this being green, in fact I think it's probably more correct as green seeing as how it prevents things from being countered (or answered) ala the recently printed Autumn's Veil.

Edit

It just didn't feel right going to green without changing something.  What I came up with is that it can only target a creature spell on the stack.  This still lets you play unanswerable strings of spells but it requires you to lead off with a creature. I think hybrid  {U}/ {G} feels right for this.  I also changed the name.

That's a pretty big limitation, and really balances the card out, IMHO. You can probably bring the cost down. Maybe drop the colorless?

Ya, you're right 3cc is too much with this limitation.  I reduced it to a 2cc card but I forced one of the hybrid to {G} because paying  {U} {U} would be out of flavor with the new wording.
