I have a chance of buying a set of unlimited P9 all in Nm condition, the lotus is graded 8.5.

He wants $4250 for everything and Id have to drive like 8 hours one way and pay in cash. Sound like a decent deal?

Sounds like a scam if you're paying in cash.

$4250 is high unless the stuff is really mint.  I personally wouldn't recommend picking it up that high.  If you're looking to play it, you shouldn't be getting NM stuff anyway.

Aesthetics aside, you'd recommend what condition for double-sleeved sanctioned play?  What's a typical price for a play-appropriate set of Unlimited power 8?

You should be able to get play-appropriate power for around $300/Mox, $700/Lotus, $400/Blue Power (not Twister).  Around $3000 for the Power 8.

You should be able to find a set of UL P9 in decent shape (Fine on average) for around $3000-3200.
