i was playing a game and i played Arrest on his Serra Angel, his response was to cycle using astral side to remove Serra Angel from the game. When he got it back he said the creature enchantment was removed because the left the game. i think it stays on. My objection is based on my experinces with phasing, in that they do the same thing, go to the rfg zone then come back.

Arrest goes to graveyard.
If an aura isn't attached to anything, it's put into it's owner's graveyard.

Phasing is an exception. The mechanic is built specifically to maintain outside influences (such as enchantments or counters).

As pointed out above, the default behavior is for objects that leave the battlefield to return as if they were entirely new objects. Some examples of this include a permanent being bounced then manually recast, or exiled then returned (eg. Astral Slide, Oblivion Ring, Momentary Blink).

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.
Much like humanity itself.

Yeah, phasing doesn't send the phased object to the Exile zone.
