Current version:
Viridian Herald
G
Creature -- Elf Shaman
1/1
When you cast a green creature spell, put one level counter on [this]
Levels 3-5: 2/2.  Other creatures you control get +1/+1
Levels 6+: 3/3.  Other creatures you control get +2/+2.

Another attempt at a level up card that gains levels without spending mana.  There's already a Gaea's Herald, unfortunately.

Original version:
Viridian Herald
G
Creature -- Elf Shaman
1/1
Level up: G
When you cast a green creature spell, put one level counter on [this]
Levels 4-7: 2/2.  Other creatures you control get +1/+1
Levels 8+: 3/3.  Other creatures you control get +2/+2.

For this cycle, how about removing the option to level normally? Also, I think the last two achieve similar functionality without the level up mechanic (which was a set specific mechanic and now unlikely to see print again).

If you do so, it would probably make sense to lower the level thresholds for the white one.

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.
Much like humanity itself.

So your suggestion is to remove the option to level normally from this whole cycle?

Done.  I lowered the level thresholds on some of the cards to compensate.

I like the adjustments. Generally, I think this brought the stronger and weaker cards of the cycle more in line with each other.
