I was looking over this deck and I'm really curious as to how well it works. I know it placed in the top 4, and it looks fun.

I think this deck is absurdly good.  I'm not in love with the SB, but I think Paul found a way to balance the essence of what Landstill is with sufficient broken cards to feel more like a traditional Vintage blue deck.

I like this list a lot. My only gripe with it is that Standstill is quite weak at board parity. With only 4 factories,  there will seldom be incentive for your opponent to break Standstill at a time which will be advantageous for you.

How would you go about fixing the issue without dillluting the manabase?

You can't really fix this issue. Once you start adding Concalves, Mutavaults, or other manlands, you lessen the probability of having the right mana available when you need it most.

I'm surprised to see in favor of this list, Shockwave.  It disabuses many of the arguments you put into your primer.  In testing it I found the changes (with the exception of black tutors) to be the weakest and most incosistent part of the deck.

I've always respected Landstill's ability to force uncomfortable stances of opposing decks and then have exactly what it needs in terms of counters or mana denial to just barely choke off the opponent.

In the Meandeck version it seems that you occasionally get gassy wins, but overall you lose your pillar, null rod, and your control suite gets muddled.
