I know its been a while but Vintage is finally coming back to central Virginia! Now that the most insane summer of Magic events I've ever seen is behind us we are going to be battling it out for a Time Walk. The last couple of times we didn't hit the number to give the Walk away so we restructured the prize payout to ensure that we give it away this time. I hope to see everyone there!

Sounds good, Tommy. I look forward to playing, and to the 20-page beer menu at Capital Ale House.

Had a issue with the date so we pulled it up a week to the 8th. Everything else is the same.

Seems like a poor time to host an event, given that it conflicts with Waterbury.

Just kidding. It will be on the 29th.

Thanks Nat!

I think I ate at that place when I went down for the SCG Invitational and found it to be awesome.

So I assume everyone will be playing net decks again: i.e. Painter's servant, Gush, Workshop, and Dredge??

If I get to play (which is unlikely since I have to run the event) I will be playing Dreadnought, Dream Halls or something even worse. I LOVE terrible decks. I especially love taking good Legacy decks and making them bad for Vintage.

As long as I don't get stuck working that weekend, I'll be coming down from Pittsburgh with 2-3 other guys (hopefully).

Noob question - what does the 15 proxy mean?

It means you can take a basic land and write "Black Lotus" on it and for the purposes of the tournament, its a Black Lotus. There are rules to making proper proxies floating around and a lot of people will tell you a lot of things but for this tournament you just need to make sure the card you are proxying is clearly marked as what it is. If its a card with a lot of oracle text you don't need to write it all on the card but make sure you know exactly what it does. Printing out the oracle text to have with you isn't a bad idea.

The most used rules for making proxies can be found here http://forums.starcitygames.com/showthread.php?11903-Updated-proxy-rules-for-the-Star-City-Power-9-series.

Just looked at the prize layout...isn't that kinda weak for 30+ players paying $25 each? Just sayin'

Top 8 decklists can be found here!

I want to thank everyone who came out to play. We had a blast (I actually got to play AND top 8'ed!). I will hopefully have details of our next Vintage event up soon.

Thanks again guys!
