Following on from the RTR discussion on Scavange concerning how good a creature pump needs to be to see vintage play, the mothership spoiled this today:

+4/+4 & trample pump for RG with the option of a 4/4 trample body. It's essentially a +5/+5 for Goyf and that's a big chunk of life.
Given the difficulty to counter the ability, is this good enough?

I do like the fact it is an uncounterable Bloodlust, but stompy hasn't been tried for a while now.  Who knows tho.  Also great at saving things against dismember/bolt, like magus of the moon or other Gray Ogres.  Not to mention its a 4/4 trampler for 4 mana itself if need be.

Just noticed it only works on attacking creatures.  Still it is a good offensive weapon.  Uncounterable shrapnel blast.

Well +4/+4 is the magic number if you're hoping to Berserk a 1/1 creature with Infect, which is probably the future of any viable eternal stompy deck. Uncounterability is definitely nice, too - especially if you have little room in an aggro deck for disruption of your own, barring perhaps Missteps to protect your own 1-drops (and Berserk).

I tried an infect list, and it just gets rolled to everything.  Such a bad deck. The only time it can pull off turn 2 kills is off lotus or with free spells/1 mana spells (2cc  if you have moxen).  this guy makes you need 3 mana to get +4/+4 and berserk.

Basically, your big pump or the critters get countered, or wasteland kills your inkmoth while spheres lock out your spells, or lightning bolt/darkblast ruins your day.  This deck just sucks -> which means this new card sucks.
