I didn't have to split for my victory Wink

The tourney was a blast as well as the post tourney festivities at Quaker Steak, where I witnessed domination of the 6 wing suicide sauce challenge. Unreal...

Wasn't even a finals split, was a top 4 chop that he is calling a win because he was the top seed. Absurd. All four of them won the event.

Twaun was responsible for my only two losses on the day. That sideboard is absolutely brutal against Dredge.

A couple things happened during our Top 4 match that perfectly illustrate why I still love playing this game after 18 or so years.

- Thanks to Twaun's Urborg, I was able to tap three Bazaars to hardcast a Bloodghast. (There was one Sphere in play, obviously.)
- I evoked a Wispmare to destroy Twaun's one Leyline of the Void in play. I then cast Cabal Therapy to get the one I had Chain of Vapored back to his hand previously. The other two were also there! Twaun's next draw? Helm of Obedience. Sadly, I still lost that game.
- That Helm eventually revealed a Narcomoeba off the top of my deck. Who gets it?

But while Twaun might have won the tournament, the Goddamned Champion of the day is none other than Tim Kenney, who successfully completed the aforementioned Triple Atomic wing challenge at Quaker Steak and Lube! Destroyed it, actually. Barely broke a sweat! (Well OK, he was actually sweating rather profusely.) I've seen people try and fail that challenge rather spectacularly.

Yep, Tim certainly wins the Who Is Most Man award by completing that feat. I wouldn't even consider trying that. Quite impressive.

I had an awesome time (my third time at TPG). I didn't do very well on the day, leaving lethal on board round 2 when I had turns 0, 1 (Time Walk), 3, and 5, with damage that could have gotten there through activated manlands, and making a stupid blocking mistake round 5 game 2 that ultimately helped put the match to a draw, but still had a lot of fun. Was able to meet a bunch of great new people (props to the Ohio & Michigan crew for making it all the way out here), and see some great games. Semifinals game 2, Glackin vs. Twuan was such. a. grind. (And I've played Landstill mirrors!  Smile) Then game 3 of the finals. Shops mulls to 6 — triple Leyline, no land. Peels Workshop off the top. About four draw steps and a couple mana sources + Helm later, combo kills for the win. Insane.

Post-tournament Quaker Steak & Lube was the icing on the cake. It was my first time there, and it was worth waiting around long after I had finished playing to go celebrate with everyone. Tim destroying those wings in the matter of a few minutes was a sight to be seen. Such a great time.

Thanks to Mike Noble for taking the time to talk with me about his collection and how he had gotten there. I'll be working towards downsizing my collection and acquiring more power. Love this format.

@Shawn: My decklist, Tendrils is not a possessive noun.  Nitpick, etc.

@Rob: It was great to meet you, and I am already impressed with the power that you've picked up thanks to the slow liquidation of the chaff that seems to plague everyone.  I'll continue keeping my eye out for a Black Lotus and the rest of your power, and hope that I'll get to hear all your updates during future events.

@Anthony:  Good games, man, and congrats on stealing our Mox Emerald.

@Everyone Else: The fun, both during and after tournaments, is something that enjoy more than the game itself.  This one was no different, and the insanity that occurred after the tournament came to a close is something that I cherish about our community.  I can't wait to do it again.

I'm sorry I didn't stick around to get Lubed up. Justin showed me the video of Tim destroying those wings. Legendary. Next time I'll make sure to get more than three hours of sleep so I can stick around.

I'm really starting to dislike your computer's pairings, Shawn  Mad. I had to play three-eighths of the top 8 from the NEV Invitational (Butker, Glackin, and Potucek rounds 3-5). I'm surprised I didn't have to play Kohler, too.

Kohler and I seem to get paired about every other tournament though. The two of us, other than at the Depot recently, rarely play. I didn't forget about T  Wink.

There are just too many ringers at these Bloomsburg tournaments.  You can't throw a pebble without hitting one!

As Vintage grows in the East the list of ringers is ever increasing. It's at a point where Moxen are no longer stolen from the East, they are earned.

Maybe if you weren't playing Dredge. The computer knows somehow. It hates me.
