Hey guys, some of you may remember me. (From Starcity game's "The Pimp Thread" that went on for a while)

So I've not played Magic in years, but kept up some of my collection. I always have that urge to play again.

Things seem a bit different now then a few years ago. How is the vintage scene? As it was back in 2007-2009? Worse?

There seem to be a few tournaments popping up, where's the best place to see what decks are good now? I don't want to build something with banned cards that changed since I played!

First, where are you from?
Second, what cards do you have?
The best place to see top 8 lists is Morphling.de.

The scene is definitely different from what it was back then.  Blue isn't the same, and creature strategies are a real contender.  Shops are powerful, as is Dredge.  Oath is a major player.

If you're from Jersey, you have the benefit of having Nick Coss's Top Deck Games.  Coss runs awesome Vintage events, has singles, and has built a nice community.  I would definitely check out announcements by Iron Chef in the Northeast U.S. Tournament Announcement Forum.

http://www.thecouncil.es/tcdecks/formato.php?format=Vintage is better than morphling.de in my opinion. That site is a good starting place to see what decks consistently make top 8s.
