I wasn't sure how to word the third part of my Leyline. I was aware it is contradicting.
How does this sound:
Discard 2 cards: look at the top card of your library. You may add that card to your hand.
If you do, reveal it. If you don't, put it in your graveyard.
Any player may activate this ability.

Leyline of Kodama's Will        {2} {G} {G}

Enchantment

If Leyline of Kodama's Will is in your opening hand, you may begin the game with it on the battlefield.

Instead of casting a creature card you may pay  {X}  and put it on the battlefield, where  {X}  is its converted mana cost.

Creatures you control have Flash.

And, now, for a totally non-creature helping Leyline:

Leyline of the Aerie Kingdom          {2} {W} {U}

If Leyline of Aerie Kingdom is in your opening hand, you may begin the game with it on the battlefield.

Whenever an enchantment enters the battlefield under your control draw a card.

Each other non-Aura enchantment is a flying creature with power and toughness each equal to its converted mana cost. It's still an enchantment.

Interesting, but I feel the first one is just way too close to Leyline of Anticipation. Nothing too special there.

Second one is Enchantress Presence AND Opalescence on crack. Imagine you open with 2 of them, swing for 8 on turn 1, good luck dealing with that.

Granted, Opalescence is pretty much outdated and could be reprinted in a more powerful version, this just seems a bit too much for a free spell. I don't think Leyline allowing easy card-draw are a good idea in general, potential for them to be busted is high.

Drawing off auras is generally green/white not G/U and it is a bit powerful.

You could change it to a single cost based activation: "During your upkeep pay {something}, If you do, non-aura enchantments you control become birds/beasts/angels/dragons." This would stop you being able to attack for the win on your opponnt's turn 0 and would rein in the power somwhat for non-eternal formats.

Not a bad idea. An activation cost. Also, the draw ability could be a looter ability instead.

The reason I suggested my Leyline is that it doesn't go in a specific deck, sure it makes some decks pretty good, but it's not focused on one deck.
It also hoses the format if a player doesn't evaluate their hand correctly.
I wanted a Leyline to smash decks like Workshops that usually rely on their top decks.
And blue decks that don't run Bob get neutered.
It just seems like a solid Leyline to be considered.

Maybe we should rename this thread 'YMTC 4: Anti Shops'

This is getting boring.

Agreed.

We have a card creation forum.  I recommend going there with any suggested cards you'd like to see made.  Reading endless suggestions that kill Mishra's Workshop, especially when the deck has been putting up 1/8th of top eights, is getting old.

Thread locked.
