Well, now we know the 'what,' now we just need to know when and where.

Huh

Eternal Weekend.  Interesting.

Makes a GP or some such more likely, though those run Friday-Sunday just the same.

Could they be crazy enough to run it as it's own event?  I mean, it works for SCG Legacy Tournaments.

That appears to be the plan.

So, this is great and I'm happy for Nick and for the east coast.

...but doesn't this strike anyone else as a further ghetto-ization of the eternal formats?  Maybe I just don't understand it yet, idk.

It's a standalone event vs. part of a big convention.  I see it as a step up.

The fact that it mirrors the date for BoM in Paris is a bit of a let down as neither event will be able to get the absolute best competition possible at the event.

While I can appreciate the value of having a separate event, if this wasn't occurring in a city I can drive to where I have nearby family, going to this would probably be out of the question.

This is a big step up in terms of accessibility because it removes the Gencon pre-req. Personally I enjoy Gencon but the overhead of a badge and the insanity associated with acquiring housing for Gencon which sells out in an hour kept many folks away. The philly convention center is easy to get to by rail, air etc..

Agreed, if Vintage and Legacy champs had to move I couldnt have named a better TO to put on this show.

But the question is why was it moved? Everyone was speculating that something big was planned for the 20yr anniversary similar how it was moved 5 years ago for the 15th anniversary.
To me this feels like Wizards simply doesnt want to have anything to do with Legacy and Vintage anymore and are content with subcontracting this out.
