Scholars has been hanging in there.  They're mostly promoting via Facebook now, but with since not everyone on TMD is also on Facebook, here's the update.

The tournaments are now starting at 7:30.  We've got 5 players that are there pretty much every week, and another 12 or so that randomly cycle through.  A good week is the 9+ for 4 rounds of swiss.  We'd love to add 3 more players to the "pretty much every week" pool, so we can always get 4 rounds of swiss.  This could be a carpool of friends who want to start having fun on Monday nights. 

Monday Night Vintage is cancelled 10/29/12 due to Frankenstorm.  It will continue as usual November 5th.

Hello all, and welcome to the announcement of the century.  April 22nd, Scholars is going old school.  Now this may be too cool for many of you fools, but we're going full blown sanctioned, zero proxy for one night only.  That's right, bring out your real cards and sling spells with the big boys.  Those of you who are going to complain, feel free to exit to the left with the standard players.  Now that they're gone, time to talk about some EPIC DUELS!  This is for the people who are truly invested in Vintage, and want to have a chance to play sanctioned more than once a year.  Oh, and since we're going big, we're upping the ante.  $20 entry fee, with prizes to the Top 4.  What's that add up to with 16 people you ask?  Over $426 in store credit in the pool!  That doesn't add up you say?  That's way more than is paid in from the entry fees.  Of course you'd catch that, you're straight up WIZARD.  The prizes are sick because Scholars bonuses the crap out of the prize pool, way beyond the entry fees.  Take a look at the following breakdown:

Now you're seeing that you can also choose cash as an option.  Pretty useful, since I'll be there with a sick selection of the goodness you need to keep up your rep as a formidable spell slinger.

I just wanted to say that I was there this past monday, and had an excellent time.  I'd love to be up more in the future, and after I start up at Rhode Island hospital in a few weeks, I'll potentially have cut down my drive time by ten to fifteen minutes, and saved 20-40 miles worth of gas.  I sadly have work next Monday, and no budget deck and no power, so I likely won't be up next week, but I hope attendance is good and everyone has a great time!
