So after Craig Berry brought out Restoration Angel to NYSE 1 placing 7th, I decided to make some changes to his build and play it at Bloomsburg today taking home first place and getting a emerald. The deck suited my play style very well so I wanted to give it a whirl...there were 29 players to battle on 7/6 at Bloomsburg...

First – Josh Potucek

1 Scalding Tarn
4 Flooded Strand
3 Island
1 Plains
3 Tundra
1 Plains
3 Tundra

SB:
1 Plains
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Rest in Peace
1 Grafdigger’s Cage
2 Devout Witness
1 Disenchant
1 Steel Sabotage
1 Tormod’s Crypt

So here is a quick report on what I beat. Sorry if names are slightly off or details are lacking (my memory is awful and I don't write notes).

Round 1 - Andy on Neo-Academy 2-0 Win
- I Need to draw counters and I did due to top fueling my draws in both games. Then EE to clear his artifact manas...
Round 2 - Alex Bastecci on BUG fish 2-0 Win
- Alex hits a mulligan bug and mulls in both games and my hands were pretty good. BUG fish seems like I would be favored regardless...
Round 3 - Rando on Martello Maybe? 1-2 Loss
- Notable game 3 here He hardcasts Battlesphere. I cast EE under sphere and chalice 0 paying colorless to cast clearing tokens. He then sacks all his artifacts except for battlesphere brining out titan...I then swords the battlesphere and titan. I miss a lot of turns to hit a land he top decks golem and I am 1 mana short to cast angel to have a blocker...
Round 4 - Duffy on Dark Depths 1-1... ID
- Game 1 I barely squeak by through a misplay on his part. Game 2 I swords his 20/20 twice hes at 56 life with sylvan library. Yeah case closed. I wasn't feelng too hot about the matchup so I offered a draw and he took it, SO we played to win the last round (we both won last round both making t8)
Round 5 - Rando on Shops 2-1 win
Top 8 - Kohler on Strix Control
- Game 1 he blows me outwith library, game 2 I blow him out with library plus uncounterable guys. Game 3 my hand is force, force, jace, clique, drain, EE, island. I keep on the draw and draw land and have drain up and then I coast to win with control and then clique jace...
Top 4 - Geras on BUG Fish
- He steals game 1 on not overextending it seemed. Very swingy game but he got it in the end. I win next 2 bc swords and EE and dudes lol
Finals - Rob Edwards on Martelloish deck with batterskull
- Game 1 he leads with revoker on lotus and revoker on EE. I have library sol ring mox land angel angel trinket etc. I use angels to destroy his revokers in combat...
- Game 2 He mulls to a shaky 6. Turn 1 revoker on lotus again but my hand had swords and recall and 2 fetch...GG

Summing all of this up I would say that Restoration Angel is really really good in this deck. With the combat tricks to surprise people, her ability to have a creature dodge removal, and her big flying body, she was great. The 2 Engineered Explosives in the deck were great all day hands down. The counter suite seems pretty much perfect. Mindsensor Explosives and Angel were the allstars on the day no doubt. I would definitely play this deck again!
