Symmetrical, but it has flash, so you are getting the card first, and it's safe to play it at opponent's EOT. great with notion thief, of course.

Miserable against mud or dredge.

Hah, I was saying that Mystic would be fine as a new addition to turbofog if it was just a howling mine effect.  Now we actually got such an effect!

It's just a mine you can time so that you draw first.  Is it Vintage playable?  Well, the closest comparison is Temple Bell.  Both give you the draw first and both cost 3.  Bell is potentially more powerful with other Vintage cards like Key.  Dictate is probably more likely to actually draw you that card because you can flash it in during the end step.  Seems like kind of a wash to me.

Now, Bell is not played in Vintage.  But lest *someone* come in and point out that showing a card is similar to a non-played card does not strictly prove unplayability, let me put it this way: I can't see why this card would find a home where Temple would not.

That was kind of rude, Saya.

Now, it does so happen that Flashmine, Godspeed and God of the Izzet are all pretty bad cards for Vintage, but it does give us something to talk about, huh?  As long as we don't devolve into posting nothing but bad cards for a set like we got into for Born of the Gods and Theros!  There's no need to do that here, since we actually do have some mechanics that promise good cards and at least one Vintage playable (Mystic) right out of the gate!

Verbal Warning for flaming another user. Behave respectfully to your fellow TMD'ers, even if you don't agree with their assessments of the viability of a card.

He's right. Just cute cards, but I cannot see any of them being used after first weeks of hype.

However, spoilers came late and I'm eager to find *something*. But last expansions are being lame...

We all are.  We just got 2 great eternal cards from Commander 2013.  And Conspiracy is right around the corner.  Conspiracy will have something for us, as it will skip over the standard and modern formats.  From what I have read, something like 55-65 on the conspiracy cards will also be in the Vintage Masters Online set (since conspiracy will not be released online.)  The set comes out in June, so you won't have to wait much longer.
