Starting in 2015, Comic Book Depot will run a Vintage FNM every month, on the first Friday of the month.
As this event is sanctioned, it will be a no-proxy tournament.
The details:
What:
$10 (cash only), sanctioned Vintage tournament.
Prize structure for eight people:
1st: $60 credit 2nd: $20 credit
There will be a 100% giveaway (in credit) of all entry fees, so as more people show, more will be added to the prize pool.
Where:
The Comic Book Depot 2847 Jerusalem Avenue Wantagh, NY 11793-2016 (516) 221-9337
When:
Friday, January 2nd 7:45 pm registration 8:00 pm start
I'm really excited about this, as it's an extra opportunity to play sanctioned Vintage, which is a rare and beautiful thing. I know that there are a lot of locals that can play sanctioned Vintage, and I hope to see many of you there!

I've been out of the tourament scene for a few years, but still have kept up with everything. I'm looking forward to a regularly held vnenue to get back into the swing of things.

Ok we can run this event one of two ways. If we sanction this event there can not be any proxy's. Which means we need a minimum 8 players. If we allow proxy's we can not sanction the event. The prize structure does not change. Remember we will be starting at 8:00pm sharp. Any question please ask.

I'd like to play sanctioned Vintage, but may be in the minority. Are there any players out there who would attend if this was unsanctioned, but don't intend on showing because it is sanctioned?

If I can make it I am ready to play fulls sanctioned and if it is unsanctioned that doesn't change me showing up.

What's the advantage to sanctioning, other than planeswalker points? Just curious.

I'm going to be there tonight, and I hope to see you there! What's the advantage to sanctioning, other than planeswalker points? Just curious.
For what it's worth, a sanctioned meta is far more reflective of what any player would see at Champs than at any of the other un-sanctioned events.

I hope this was a success. Really sad I couldn't make it for this one, but I'm still out of town.

We did. 10 guys, which was a great start. I'm on a bit of a cold streak, and won one game on my way to an 0-3 performance. Murphy paid a visit on Friday, but I'll be ready come February!
