I'm not sure if this idea has come up yet, but I think it possible to use Fling and Wall of Blood as a viable type 1 kill combo.  Of course this means that your life total must be higher than your opponents when you go off.  The basic sketch of the deck I'm working with so far is:

BFD.dec (unfinished)

Combo:

4 Fling
4 Wall of Blood

Control:

4 Duress
4 Hymn to Tourach
4 Hypnotic Specter

Aggro:

4 Mogg Fanatic
4 Lightning Bolt

Tutor:

1 Demonic Consultation
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Gamble

Mana:

4 Badlands
4 Bloodstained Mires
4 Dark Ritual
4 Elvish Spirit Guide
1 Lotus Petal
8 Swamp

Possible optional cards:
Null Rod
Blood Moon
Cabal Therapy
Defense Grid

The life requirement restricts necropotence, and even hinders the effectiveness of vampiric tutor and the fetchlands.  Card choice as follows:

Duress: Eliminates FoW, Mana Drain, Midirection, Bolts, etc.
Hymn: 2 for 1
Hypnotic Specter:  Threat + Control.  Either they waste a bolt/counter on it, or it gains you enough life advantage.
Mogg Fanatic:  Anti-Aggro, can 2 for 1 or even stall
Lightning Bolt:  Life race

I realize this deck is rather fragile when it comes to playing against aggro, which can almost certainly race life faster.  Still, I think there is some viability to this deck.  Comments?

your problem against aggro or red decks is that when you pay your life for wall and Fling, they response with bolt and you die. Duresses sure help on this.
Why Elvish Spirit Guides?

What I think might be a problem is that you have almost no protection for your combo.  you have the duresses, hymns, and hippys, but hyms and hippys are not always able to stop the cards you want.  I might suggest adding green for Xantic Swarm.  It would stop a player playing burn from bolting you in responce to the fling and it would also stop those pesky counters.

As for elvish spirit guide, I think its just used to speed up the combo because of the lack of power cards.

And if green is not added you could go for a more aggressive build with blood moons and negators.

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate.  And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

Yep, Negators are funny with Fling. That's a different deck, though, being more aggro and using Fling a a finisher.

Hey there, it's funny you brought this deck up. There is a guy here in San Diego who is working on a version of the deck that is Black Red Green, so he can play Pernicous Deed and 4 Berserks. Deed helps control the board until you can set up your combo pieces, and Berserk makes the deck ridiculous (especially in multiples) and fast. Also, Ball Lightning is very good in the deck by itself, and when coupled with Berserk and/or Fling things get really interesting.

But as flurp mentioned earlier, you may want to add a couple of sideboard elements to help protect your combo. I would suggest adding Dark Ritual to help speed up the deck, and adding a few Xantid Swarm to the sideboard to help against control. Bloodstained Mires AND Wooded Foothills will fetch you Badlands or Bayou, so it isn't really straining the mana-base at all.
