Well leviat, bless his soul, made available the old Card Creation Forum posts, so I culled the most interesting unfinished ideas from there and put them into this thread. If any of the original creators would like to finish their cards, that would be cool, if not, they become public domain.

ad infinitum:

Simple World
1G
Enchantment
0: Target creature with no abilities gains trample. Any player may play this ability.
2G: Put a creature card in your graveyard without abilities into play with a +1/+1 counter on it.

dandan:

Expel (needs a new name)
1UU
Instant
Counter target spell. Return to owner's hand all permanents that share a name with that spell.

Womprax:

Name
U
Instant
If target spell would affect any number of players, it only affects its controller instead.[/code]

The card name Expel has already been used on the following card I created (that has been added to the Master List):

Expel
B
Sorcery
Any number of target players each reveals his or her hand and discards a nonland card with the lowest converted mana cost. (If two or more cards are tied for the lowest coverted mana cost, discard any one of them.)

(The card name Expel wouldn't have been taken if I had been able to use my first choice, Discard.)

Okay, I've rescued all my favorites from this thread. If anyone wants the rest of these, they're welcome to them, but I won't lose any sleep over them if they die. Thus, I'm reverting this thread to 'normal' status, not announcement.

The old 'Expel' thread was plagued with the problem that Banish was the best definition of the effect but is too tied to Black to make it a reasonable choice.
How about Return?

I think a short one word name is in order

I would be okay with calling it Banish, personally, and also, my only objection would be that it's too close to Exile, not Dark Banishing!

Exile is far more permanent. I'm happy with Banish and the Dutch clan were arguing for it too if I remember correctly (just to prove that they do post on-topic occasionally).
