Chimeric Egg in Sligh?

Looking at one of the new Darksteel cards, Chimeric Egg.

Whenever opponent plays a non-artifact spell, put a charge counter on Chimeric Egg.

Remove 3 charge counters:  Chimeric Egg becomes a 6/6 Trample creature until end of turn.

Old school sligh used to run Chimeric Idol.  Now we get a better chimera.

Pros:

6/6 Trample for 3, sounds like Ball Lightning, but better since it's reusable once charged up.
Helps match up against GAT, sui black.

Cons:

Sloooooow.
Juicy Mana Drain target.
Sucks against WelderMUD and brown builds.

I wouldn't run them as a 4-of if I did, but I was thinking along the lines of 2 or so, though highly dependant on the local meta-game.
