With 4 Duress, 4 Hymn, and 4 Hypnotic Specters, your opponent shouldn't have enough cards in hand to make Mindtwist worthwhile by the time you can cast it.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Carno/Sarco argument.  Sarcomancy is much better in tandem with Phyrexian Negator, there is no doubt, but I've also played games where my first turn zombie died before I even got to swing with it, and losing 1 life to the 'phage was much better than 5 or 6 to sarco.  This really isn't all that uncommon of an occurance, with the amount of removal around.  I can't really comment authoratatively, having never played mono-black outside of Apprentice(my area is very aggro), but I wonder if anyone has kept track of how much life you lose on average to one as opposed to the other.
I would also think that against your average control deck, with only a few sources of damage, your life total is irrelevant, I mean, the control matchup is all about whether or not they gain control before you kill them.  Once they gain control, you're pretty much screwed anyway, with little hope of recovery.

I dont think the debate is about which Zombie is better (because it is clearly Sarcomancy) but rather about if Zombies are worth playing at all. My position is clear, if you cant run Reavers then Sarcos are a decent choice. Of course i would like to find a better alternative for a more balanced metagame, but i dont like the idea of running War Beasts+Negators+Hyppies all at the same time. I might consider running Pump Knights or some other crappy 2cc creature, but i just dont see how they are better than Sarcos.

I may actually run Legend's deck at my next tourney because i expect to see a lot more Dragon decks and, in response to those, more control decks too. I fully endorse LegendBlack for a control/combo heavy metagame.

The reason that the Sarcomancies and/or the Carnophages are now outdated is Nantuko Shade.  Shade against aggro eats a single guy a turn unless they find a way to deal with it; Sarcomancy just trades and then hurts you.  Flesh Reaver should be played unless you see nothing but aggro decks.

hmmm....like I have said and noted for a long time....suicide black is slowly becoming knives.....about the only real difference is rod over keg and sometimes 4 more creatures.

Actually, I would say knives or void is the best of the black.  Knives can handle the ol' scrub meta fairly well and void can handle a more powered.

42up, void does a better job of taking care of a scrub metagame than knives does. knives is so inferior to void its not funny.

Magi, i havent worked on the SB yet im busy with junk again  but right now its 4contagion, 3spinningD, 4dystopia, 4PWB. still need work, it hasnt changed in months .

and mines not LB its the same deck ive used for months with changes, LB uses a higher land count no?

I am closing this thread. This discussion has died long ago, and now only attracts deck critique posts which generally belong in Vintage.
