I was just wondering, is there a prefered way to format your reports?  What things are people looking for in the report?  I understand that you want to hear about top8s and final4s and the finals, but what information are people looking for other than that.  My reports seem to get alot of looks but not much discussion.  Reports don't usually garner much discussion but I was wondering if this is because they are not interesting or that people would rather spend their time posting elsewhere?

Also what is your opinion on what your like in reports: dry and just the facts, or do you prefer colorful kennings, some magic slang, and humor.

just wondering for future referance.

I think a mix of the facts and story telling are essential to a good report.  Ones with just the facts are usually too boring to read all the way through, and you wind up just scrolling down the bottom to see how they finished up.  On the other end, using magic slang all the time and just writing about what happened in between the rounds gets pretty old fast.  So I think that it is safe to say, it is essential to have both facts and stories in a report.

I really do enjoy reading tourney reports. I agree with RiverBoa that the best reports are comprised of a mixture facts/story telling/humour. Personally though, I do appreciate reports that highlight the clutch situations in certain games and the conclusions of those situations.
