I've been hoping to find a primer added for Mask, and will be on the lookout for one. Hopefully a Mask veteran takes the ball and runs with it. In the meantime, here's my build: Disruption: Hymn to Tourach x3 Duress x4 Unmask x3 Mindtwist x1 Crushing Device Illusionary Mask x4 Phrexian Dreadnought x4 Lord of Tresserhorn x3 Search Cards Vampiric Tutor x1 Demonic Tutor x1 Demonic Consultation x1 Tainted Pact x4 Other Time Walk x1 Ancestral Recall x1 Timetwister x1 Recoil x1 Yawgmoth's Will x1 Necropotence x1 Fast Mana Dark Ritual x4 Mana Vault x1 Mana Crypt x1 Sol Ring x1 Moxen x5 Black Lotus x1 Lotus Petal x1 Swamp x2 Snow-covered Swamp x1 Underground Sea x4 Polluted Delta x4
-I realize Timetwister isn't usually part of the action, but if your opponent has managed to off all of your masks, it can get them back into the mix for you. -I know a lot of players include Phyrexian Negator, but my metagame is loaded with burn, so I have them in my board.
So that's the main deck. I'm still putting the board together, so I won't present it here, but would like suggestions in that regard as well as the main build. Thanks ahead of time for your ideas

Thanks Ump; I did read that one, but kinda discredited it after seeing the 3rd color splash for Seal of Cleansing. The guys on this site that did the other primers seem to be very adept deckbuilders. I'd love to see one of them, or Rakso, cover Mask.

Rakso did an article featuring Mask, but hes not quite the expert on the subject. I'm talking to some people now about doing primers, and Mask is one of those that are involved. In the meantime, use the search function, read reports, and other discussions on Mask.

Thanks Zherbus; that's what I have been doing so far, but there is a lot of data to sift through, and I'm not really all that familiar with the users posting their views or their expertise. I hope I don't come off sounding snobby by saying that; it's not my intention. I'll be on the lookout for the future primer. I'm hoping that the author addresses whether or not to run Timetwister. As I mentioned further up in my initial post, I think that it may be an overlooked utility card (not to mention the obvious card drawing tool) that will 'reset' the deck's key card count (as long as these essential cards have not been removed from the game entirely), not to mention the deck's one solution to Keg nastiness: Recoil. With the heavy discard element to my build, I think that I should be able to strip my opponents newly Timetwister-refilled hand and hopefully neutralize any threats from his new hand of seven. On an unrelated aside: I can't seem to log in using the user name that I'm writing this post under. I have tried all my usual passwords and can't find the confirmation email that you sent in response to my approved application. I believe that your authentication server is not recognizing my username. I tried the option to have my password sent to my registered email address, but without any luck, siting an unrecognized username. Please let me know if you can help, and what info/intervention you might need from me. Thanks again.

O.K., I got to see how the newly added Timetwister works in the above Mask Build and I was not dissapointed. In a midgame stalemate that amounted to a topdecking race, the twister came through like a champ. Mask was on the board but two of my Dreadnoughts had already succumed to my opponents two Diabolic Edicts. I had a Underground Sea and a Sol Ring to work with, when I topdecked the Timetwister. I played it and ended up with a Black Lotus, Mox Pearl, Unmask, Duress, Tainted Pact, and Phyrexian Dreadnought x2. The Duress followed by Unmask (pitching Pact) grabbed my opponents freshly drawn Edict and Recoil, clearring the way for the Dreadnought, funded by the Pearl. I held onto the Lotus to give myself insurance against the possibility of an untimely topdecked Recoil. The duel ended two turns later under unstoppable Phyrexian brutality The Twister went on in one or two other duels that night to do similiar antics. So I'm hoping that the person who ends up creating the Mask primer at least sees my post and includes the Timetwister in his playtesting leading up to his/her authoring the column. In a deck that is so well established and has card choices that seem 'set in stone' when it comes to putting together the optimal build, I'd like to think that I may have contributed this one little cog that makes the beast run more reliably

Played the above build last night and the Lord Of Tresserhorn got repeatedly chump blocked, giving my opponent the time he needed to pull off his victory. I'm starting to see why a lot of people have discontinued using them in their Mask decks. With no trample or evasion abilities, the Lord can end up being dead weight at times. I want to main deck my Phyrexian Negators, but my metagame is fairly well stocked with burn and weenie hordes. Anyone have any ideas for me
