Returning to Type 1

Hi All...

My name is Grendal...   I've been out of the loop for sometime now, but have spent the last month or so brushing up on the new metagame out there.   Between TMD forumns and Starcity, I believe I have actually gotten a pretty good handle on current environment.

Now comes the question...     Outside of Origins/GenCon/Andcon, which back in days of old 94-97 range were the hot beds for type 1.   Where does a Type 1 player find bigger games now days?

Is AndCon still the type 1 nationals each year?

I have also heard talk about a Type 1 Worlds title or something going to be held at either Gencon and/or Origins, can anyone confirm or deny this rumor?

Origins (in Columbus, OH) is indeed the 2003 Type 1 World Championships. Also, if you live in the midwest, there is going to be a 'CrazyCon' held in Chicago soon that will be a 32K event if 32 people show, which is probably the highest K event you'll see in a while.
