Hi there! I started playing magic long ago when beta was out, but I ended up selling all my cards around tempest. Recently when I started my first job, a guy asked if I had ever heard of Magic. Long story short, we taught him to play (There were about 3 other people who played magic at the time as well, we taught 3 more people how to play, and another guy started working there who has power) and I was hooked once again, after catching up on the past 11-13 sets I finally settled on & built a nether void deck. For the most part we only play free for all multiplayer, sadly as I'm sure you would guess, the typical Nether Void doesn't work very well in this situation, or against bad random aggro decks. This last week after getting a serious case of nostalgia, I decided to rebuild my deck with one of my favorite creatures & make it fit my environment. Here's what I've come up with so far:
Druidic Nightmare by Dragoson
4 Nightmare 4 Hypnotic Specter 4 Mishra's Factory
4 Sinkhole 4 Duress 2 Nether Void
4 Oath of Druids 2 Gaea's Blessing
4 Pernicious Deed
1 Demonic Tutor 1 Mox Diamond
4 Dark Ritual 1 Strip Mine 1 Sol Ring 1 Lake of the Dead 4 Bayou 4 Llanowar Waste 11 Swamps
Let me explain a few choices I made here.
Oath of Druids & Gaea's Blessing A great way to get out the expensive nightmare, and with my meta game it's almost always a sure thing that I can activate the oath. This also has the upside of recycling my sinkholes, duress, rituals, deeds, stripmine , and any creatures that happen to die.
Pernicious Deed Sadly, there has been a ton of enchantment & artifact removal running around lately. I really wanted to use disk instead, but this is just superior to it, and I can activate it the turn I play it.
Mox Diamond & Lake of the Dead Due to my graveyard being cycled with the blessing, I don't fear losing land quite as much, the diamond is just too good early on to pass up, and the lake can help force something through the void if needed, as well as helping get to 9 mana for my deed in the event of a 2nd turn hypnox coming out
Other than that I think the mana base needs help, and since I don't have a of the few cards yet, I haven't had a chance to play test at all. I should mention I don't need a sideboard as we never use them at work & people rarely play the same deck twice in a row. Please feel free to comment and make suggestions on how to improve the deck.
Thanks for your time!
