We all know that Blood Moon is far superior to Back to Basics in Parfait, but it might be worth your troubles to branch parfait in a new direction... blue. I've been messing around with Parfait for a few weeks now, trying to find new things unexploited by the public yet and stumbled upon some interesting blue enchantments...

Back to Basics - Its not as groundbreakong as bloodmoon, but works well enough.

Hesitation - This helps the early game out and its reusable, great with arcane laboratory! Lets you have a little time to set up.

Arcane Laboratory - This slows the game down a whole heck of a lot! Great against the a lot of decks! Helps Parfait out w/ combo, yawgmoths will, Pumped up Dryads in gro, and doesn't hurt you very much at all! You might want to do some tweaking if you have this in your deck, like some extra instants, or Kjeldoran Outpost/extra wastelands... anything that you don't have to use up your turn to cast!

Propaganda - Slows down those wennie decks that aren't hurt by humility. Also helps when you have Back to Basics out and are trying to make them tap there lands.

Trade Routes - The extra card drawing that can help speed this deck up. works as an extra zuran orb/ claws of gix when trying to get rid of some excess mana. Can also help you find that swords to plowshares when a drednought is charging at you!

Aether Storm/Barrier, soul barrier - Some extra creature hate that doesn't effect you.

Remember, these are just some enchantments that i found in blue, that doesn't count any of the power cards that aren't enchantments!

***If somebody would be so kind as to post this on the main vintage board, I would greatly appreciate it! (please mention me if possible)

P.S. Please open registration Zherbus!!!! PLEASE!!!!

back to basics - it was a really great card...until those damn fetchlands appear!!! with the fetchlands, seeing u with the b2b, they can juz fetch for a basic land and continue with life....blood moon on the other hand, stops this crapz

arcane lab - seems great...except one thing, what's the use of land taxing and scroll racking the lands for multiple spells when u can only play one each turn?? (leaves u to ponder...)

propagenda, aether barrier - what will u take out for these clearly not as good enchantments? moat and humility is probabaly more than enough...

trade routes - great, but seeing so little blue cards viable, probabaly not worth the splash....

If you plan on splashing blue to Parfait, then I would take a look at a deck called "A Beautiful Mind", just do a search in the forums for "ABM".

Personally though, I don't think you should splash any color in Parfait unless you plan on addressing Parfait's two weak spots. It's high mana curve, or it's matchup against COMBO.

I hear alot of combo decks need mana?

Blood moon is sum good vs. Non-basic land combo decks...

Now who's the one with the COMBO!!

Hey look I got my Blood Moon into play, looks like I comboed first.

I think bloodmoon is definitely the way to go.  A lot of decks can play around a b2b or find a way to kill it.  Where if those lands are mountains, there is not a lot you can do.  As a gro tog player, I am 1000 times more scared of blood moon than of b2b.  A lot of other decks have ways of playing around b2b.  Its not near as potent as BM.
However, if you splash blue, ABM isn't too far from what you would end up with.  Add ancestral, walk, meddling mage would help a lot.

Blood Moon is definately a lot better.

If you were going to add blue, you would eventually want to play the big blue.
If you were going to add blue, you would eventually want to add more stable card drawers then the tax-rack thing.
If your were going to add blue, you would eventually want to play counters.
If you were going to add blue, you would eventually want to play a better win condition then Sacred Mesa.
If you were going to add blue, why not play uw-control?
If you were going to play uw-control, you would want to build a better deck since you're losing to much.
If you were going to lose to much, you would play Keeper.

So, play some mountains and blood moons, and screw them over with the general parfait idea.

...  it was just a suggestion... Parfait will never grow if people don't try new things. I was just trying to find some new tech to use... oh well... But on a side note, arcane laboratory helps A LOT against combo (if you can get it out). Also, B2B helps vs. TNT more than blood moon.

With Arcane Lab they can just counter one spell of yours and you cant do anything else and the lab has bad synergy woth your Chants, on the other hand, if you took out the Chants for Labs, you would have replaced one card that is good vs. combo AND other decks for one card that is good vs. combo but messes up your mana base.

And its debateable if a Workshop that taps for R is better than a Workshop that taps for 3 once.

BTW: The best way to to make sure you wont get member here is to annoy Zherbus with requests to become member.
