Last month, I took a mox sapphire home from Savannah with urphid.  In Charleston, I got top 8 and lost to eventual winner Cullen Cox.  On Sunday, I became a spectator.  Anyway, here is my report.

Met up with Evil (white trash) Bill, Cullen and Jebus for some playtesting on Sat.  Bill tells me "Malaysian prime minister bad, martial arts good" then allows me to ride in the minivan.
Jesse Driggers loans me some essential cards (his post is in the tournament report area) and we roll.

Match 1 Josh J playing mask
Game 1: turn 2 swing for 16 I clean the crap out of my pants.
Game 2: both decks play poorly, but he gets out a rootwater theif, a hippie, and helms one of ophidians.  I have no blockers, scoop
0-1-0

Match 2:  Zelif playing turbolich!?
I didn't see much of his deck either game.  Of note though, in game 1 I had to wish for a capsize because he played a turn 1 city of solitude.
In game 2
him- bayou
me- island
him- bayou, mox, mox, mox, mox, lotus, sac lotus, regrow lotus, sac lotus, wheel of fortune
me- force of will  the wheel
Darren is really cool to play against because he loves to PLAY magic.
Anyway, I roll him pretty easy, as I am not a good matchup for his deck.
1-1-0

Match 3 Mike M playing turboland
Mike is pretty cool and made it to the finals in Charleston last month.  We split games 1 and 2.  In game 3 he should of have won.  I had a rainbow efreet out, which I kept phasing out at the end of turn so that he couldn't oath.  He gets me to tap out, then hard casts morphling, leaving an island, forest, and undiscovered paradise untapped.  I swing and he taps the island to fly and block.  Damage on stack I phase out, and he taps the und. paradise to make morph a 2/4.  He only has a forest, so I red blast it.  He still nearly went off when I had to wish for fire to kill him.
good games.
2-1-1

Round 4 Jesse playing TNT w/ black
I usually do well against TnT, but he hooks me up with cards and he is wearing the "war paint" today.  I accept his ID because he's cool, and gives a mean donkeypunch.

Round 5 Todd Judy playing Trix
Todd is another good Savannah player thats cool to play against.  I like this matchup until we start.  He sweeps me like yesterdays trash.

Anyway, I played 3 of the top 4.  Of note, urphid decks are becoming more popular as another one appeared and someone else picked up my 4 phids.  For me, its definitely time for change.
I'm thinking stasis should really irritate people, so I may put that together.

Props
Jesse for pizza and loaning the cards.
Bill for the ride and testing

Slops
Dave for trying to have a dick measuring contest (btw, Kevin 'Crapps' assures me you would win because he says you have "the most girth on the Earth")

Lol.

Nice report, although without a lot of detail. Shouldn't urphid be able to roll Trix? Did you just have crappy draws, or what happened?
Do you also have a decklist of what you played ?

Good report Dad!

Morefling: that day was a day for things that should not have happened.  I was running my red stompy and I lost to void, yet I beat Trix.  WTF?!?!!?

I should have made top 8 but my first pairing didn't show so I got a buy.  Having a buy when they go to tie breakers sucks...

I suppose you guys are going to blame your losses on me not being there.
