The poor guy just wanted people to check out his board.  Now he'll probably shut it down and lock himself in a closet waiting for the flys and the spiders.

I was not sure how to handle advertising of other boards at first but I figured that it is okay.

First this might ne a good lesson rcaslim once he finds out how much work this actually is and how important a screening process is.

Secondly, if that Forum attracts all people that are unhappy with our Registration Policy and all the people that do not come in (yet) and think that this Newbie/Guest Forum is not enough for them - in that case all sites and sides may profit from it.

In that regard I have to say something. Now, that the Registration Process is set and now that it is clear that TMDD will only cherrypick the best, I decided to change the face of this Forum. I will try to give all of you a place you can like to be in, too, and not just a "TMD Light". I currently suffer from time constraints but that won´t last forever.
I have no problem if you go to the Abyss but I want that you know that this place can offer you all that you need. Finally, there is of course no hindrance in posting on both forums, so good luck!

I hope this doesn't sound rude or anything, but if you made the new board because you couldn't register here, how about giving us a reason to want to go to your forum also by starting interesting topics that we would want to participate in (otherwise we will just start new posts here).  People are not going to want to join if there is nothing going on.

For someone with your avatar, I'd expect slighly better english than this. I count two mistakes (more if you include using "..." instead of real punctuation)  

Oh, and there are a few posts on the board, but without a pre-existing community (a la BD), he'll have to provide some actual content to get people to go there.

And, yeah, my anti-popup software didn't work either (obviously).

Yeah I checked out the other one but the screening process is actually a good thing because it keeps out inbreds and other such people. I am waiting to get an account here but its worth it because the forums don't get clogged up with every other member posting their ornithopter combos.you need to have something that would make people want to visit both boards instead of just posting here at the usual one, eh thats my opinion

I understand that a screening process is important. But I don't want the doors to be closed to the board before they are even open. I figured I would let in a good # of people in and then start the screening. As for the pop ups I am not going to invest in the board which would stop the pop ups untill I think the board is really going to make it on its own. I am not trying to take away from TMD in any way shape or form. I just want to give some of the people that aren't members a place to talk to some of the other people that are restricted to just the newbie forum of TMD but in a more organized way. It takes more than one person to make a board to work I need people that are willing to try something new and are willing to put up with some of the problems a new site has. Just keep in mind that it will get better and if for some reason it doesn't then don't go there.

Closed. I don't mind advertising of another site, but this isn't the forum for it. In short, you have to be registered and you have to do it in the Community forum.

The best of luck with the new site, but you need to take care of some things first.

1) Noone likes pop-ups. That is easily going to cut potential visitors in half.

2) People like easy to type in URLs.

3) People like content and quality.
