Recall and Hurkyls Recall are also free.

Beserk unrestricted. hmm. Wonder how long that will last. Is there any reason not to run 4 of them in Mask? It's a second turn kill and should happen pretty frequently with Tutoring and all. All 3 pieces are unrestricted as well. That's pretty nice for a second turn kill.

I'd say Stompy got a boost though. Being able to blow up creatures for large chunks of life instead of waiting to use it as a finisher will be very nice. Hmm. To bad I only own 1 Wink

Nice boost to GroaTog as well. Much easier to get kills early now.

I disagree about mask running it, at least any current build.  U/B mask is good as it is, pretty much all the cards are needed to make the deck run.  If you have any suggestions on what to cut, I'd be willing to listen

Wow, this was certainly unexpected...

1. Recall-- Finally....

2. Hurkyl's Recall-- Another one that was long overdue.

3. Berserk-- This one surprised me a lot, but we will see what happens. Psychatog decks could be quite insane with this unrestriction, but hopefully not broken. Keeper might have to start packing more instant speed removal. As for the Mask comment, I doubt that the Mask deck has as much potential to be broken with multiple Berserks as the Psychatog decks.

4. Earthcraft-- This one I do not understand. While there is the combo engine with Squirrel Nest, the deck was not broken, so I do not quite follow their thinking.

5. Entomb-- Another card that should probably not have made the list. Other than Dragon and Reanimation, no other deck even used this card, and Dragon is not overly broken. Also, the card itself is not broken either.

Overall, I am partially pleased and partially disappointed. I agree with Recall and Hurkyl's Recall, but disagree with Earthcraft and Entomb. I am currently undecided on the Berserk, at least until I see its interaction with the feared Hulk Smash/Growatog decks. One thing is certain however-- nearly all decks will undergo changes to adapt to this new metagame shift.

Well, from what I've seen, the Earthcraft/Entomb restrictions weren't at all a result of T1. In fact, it appears that both were done as a result of the T1.5 metagame. Of course, it shuts down WGD and Squirrelcraft, but it's not like anyone played those seriously in T1.

While I agree that I haven't seen much Squirrelcraft, I know several decks that build sideboards specifically against WGD.  How can a turn 1 combo deck not be played seriously?  I think restricting entomb was an awfully silly thing to do-- it wasn't that broken.

As an aside, what the heck is up with the jank "explanations" from wizards?  Their unrestricting was decent, but their restriction lists was just sort of "um, well, it was like card A, and it's restricted."

My thoughts,
