These last few months i have played a various number of scepter decks and have realised the perhaps instead of imprinting fire/ice, an all red burn/mana denial deck probably is the way to go. Now it looks like this:

MainDeck:

Mana:

11 Mountains
5 Waste/strip
4 Great Furnace
1 Lotus Petal
1 Sol Ring

Critters:

4 Gorilla Shaman
4 Grim Lavamancer
4 Slith Firewalker

Burn:

4 Lightning Bolt
4 Incinerate
3 Shrapnel Blast
3 Fire Blast

Mana denials/Burners/Tools:

3 Pillage
4 Ankh of Mishra
4 Isochron Scepter
1 Wheel of Fortune

SideBoard:
??? Metagame dependant.

I know it looks kind of scrubish but it actually works, I am thinking about adding Bloodmoons to the maindeck because it will have great synergy with the mana denial consept of the deck. Any thoughts?

I wanted to suggest Price of Progress and more mountains, fireblast is quite hard to use with so few mountains. i run 14 in a mono-r deck running 3 blasts and i find that to be the breaking point. PoP is sick on a septer, with so many multi coloured decks out there its a must. blood moon would be a great addition to the deck over pillage, moon is so very good right now. especially if they are 8th edition foiled  Very Happy

I have a couple other suggestions...
1, Yes, bloodmoon is great.  We all know this.  With a bloodmoon out, it is feasable to use Fireblast with your Artifact lands (Artifact Land - Mountain).  PoP on a stick is evil and wrong, as doing 10 damage a turn to a person with one spell shouldn't happen :\

Obvious change -3 Pillage +3 Blood Moon
Fit PoP in MD/SB.
I personally HATE your creature selection...  Slith is too expensive for sligh, so it should be replaced by somthing a bit more effective, like Jackass pups.
Lose Sol Ring and perhaps a couple more basics...   Your running 21 mana sources where your effect mana curve ends at TWO! (Yes, I know, four for scepter, but Razz)  I also might fit in a chrome mox and some other restricted artifact goodness for saccage to the Blast.  "MOX BLAST!".  Sorry.

here's my isosligh deck:

creatures:
4x gorilla shaman
4x jackal pup
4x mogg fanatic

burn:
2x fireblast
4x incinerate
4x lightning bolt
4x price of progress
4x shrapnel blast

other:
2x blood moon
4x fire/ice

artifacts:
4x isochron scepter

mana:
1x lotus petal
1x sol ring
4x great furnace
6x mountains
1x strip mine
1x volcanic island
2x wasteland
4x wooded foothills

i think that ankh is a solid card, just not in this deck. when you play an isochron scepter, you'll basically be playing whatever card you imprinted on it every turn. it will use up 2 mana every turn. you don't want to you restrict yourself any further by playing an ankh. i'd say it's either one or the other, but not both.

slith is a godsend to sligh, but once again, not for this deck. when you have 2 mana out, you'll be wanting to play your isochron scepter as soon as you can rather than play a creature.

why would you not want to run sol ring? it can help bring out that first turn scepter. in the late game, sol ring helps fuel your scepters you don't have to waste your red mana on it.

why not fire/ice? tapping their precious workshop or academy and drawing a card every turn can't be that bad can it? the one thing that sligh lacks the most is card draw and this is the solution. it also helps kill multiple welders or other goblins. a single volcanic island is fetchable when you don't have a scepter and want to ice something.

you are already removing enough cards in your hand with scepter, you don't need chrome mox to help removing more. if you think you need more artifact sources, try using mishra's factory. it's an efficient 2/2 creature and you can tap it to turn itself into an artifact creature if you need a shrapnel blast target.

blood moon = win. with its ability to still allow damage from PoP, i think it's the greatest type 1 hoser ever. few decks run basic land (suicide, stompy, gay fish...), but these decks are the ones that are also hurt the most by slighs other cards (*cough* negator *cough*). blood moon is a must for all sligh decks.

All good ideas all though in my metagame it is better to destroy their mana sources than giving the damage with PoP, at first i ran 3 PoP main, but after testing against the most common decks in my meta mana denial is far better.
Dragon is played along with alot of other top tier decks, PoP just isn´t worth it, because of the speed these powered decks has. Its better to just slow them down.
One of my worst fears at first was Chalice but by adding slith as a 2 cc help along with pillage.
I have thought about bloodmoon, think i will try it.
The mana sources and Blasts work well together, so i won´t change that.

thanks

Why is Slith bad in this deck, again? It gets around Chalice for 1, it's a must-answer threat, and it's fast. I see those as the most necessary attributes for a creature in sligh.

4x Grim Lavamancer
4x Gorilla Shaman
4x Jackal Pup
4x Slith Firewalker

4x Lightning Bolt
4x Price of Progress
4x Blood Moon
4x Incinerate
4x Shrapnel Blast
4x Isochron Scepter

4x Great Furnace
1x Strip Mine
4x Wasteland
1x Chrome Mox
1x Mox Ruby
1x Black Lotus
8x Mountain

Price of Progress, while pretty much dead against Dragon, is too powerful not to include in Sligh. If truly all you see is Dragon, play ankhs main and PoP Sb.

With the print of Isochron Scepter, splashing a color is now much more desireable and I think splashing blue can do a lot of good for this deck.  You get Ancestral, Walk (great with Slith), Fire/Ice (best imprint next to Recall for this deck) and SB cards like Stifle.
