Competitive UB in today's metagame?

I didn't say it was card advantage.  I said it was card drawing.  There's a difference.  Braintorm, for just U, digs down three cards.  Put up some game logs or something to show me how effective Shadowmage is.  I just don't see it getting down even as much as Brainstorm, and certainly not as fast.

White gives more than just Balance, which you shouldn't even use.  Decrees, Meddling Mages, Swords, Angels and sideboard Disenchants would all be great additions to this deck.

because it sucks? Because for 1W you can clear the board, equalize lands, and reset hands?

imo, Balance is a reset button that should be on-hand in any deck that can support it's color.

The deck I'm suggesting has a bunch of creatures.  Balance wouldn't hurt, but it would be dead in a lot of matches.  You can put one in if you insist, I just don't think it would be necessary.
