I'm looking at playing survival mask again.  I think it's probably pretty strong in the current metagame.  there are a few other threads about this type of deck running around so I'm gonna try to keep it short.

I'm having trouble settling on a sideboard.  my metagame contains a coupple of random U/B control decks,  UR landstill, a semi powered neo-GAT, a nasty goblin deck, some other random aggro, a Suicide black, and on rector-trix.  and an astral slide deck?  which seems kinda random but is actually fairly mean to dreadnoughts cus it's like welding him

Right now I'm going with GUw similar to the list posted in Kowal's thread found here:
http://www.themanadrain.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5563

I'm currently thinking about siding the following:

2 meddling mage (not sure when I'd use these)

3 naturalize (trix, slide)

2 stifle (trix, decree)

2 blue blast (goblins)

3 xantid swarm (control hoser)

2 chill (goblins+random red aggro)

1 maze of ith (tog)

one more quick question.  What is the thought on eater of days in this archtype?  is he good?  if I can't find a survival I think he could be helpful, but I don't really have anyone to test with so I was wondering if someone who has done some testing with this could let me know.

thanx alot guys

The weakest part of Mask is always the mana. I suggest Sacred Ground, it takes care of a lot of problems that a lot of decks throw at it. You can always use Peacekeeper as well. Seems janky but shuts suicide right down.

Only until you mass an alpha-strike and then conveniently let the Peacekeeper die.  If you're looking to deal damage in two and three point chunks, do not play this deck.

so I swords my own peace keeper or bounce it with a tradewind rider or something?  I see how this could work but it seems like a really wierd strategy to me.

also could someone give me some guidance on Eater of Days?  I still can't decide if it's worth playing or not.

ok about the sideboard it need sacred ground and some other goodness i would suggest

4-sacred ground
2-withered wretch
3-stifle
2-gangbang orangatan(uktabi monkey)/viridian zealot
1-peacekeeper? only if tog or random aggro  are big in your meta also if your scared of oshuwa but you should probably run it md in that case
3-tormods crypt-wretch is great but you are uber afraid of dragon

in order for me to help you more i would need a decklist that you are running i have been playing this deck for a while now and its one of my favorites next to madness and dragon(only cause i have the bazaars) but i still play this one and it agrivates the hell out of tog when they pump up there tog a crap load and i just use surviaval to discard a spore frog  lol.

ps. i would suggest a dawnstrider agaisnt tog and aggro cause when using squee you can fog every turn

nobody likes lightning greaves?
i personally feel it's superior to the anger version because a. you can have a surprise 12 power creature shafting your opponent b. you can't plow/bounce/weld/slide the damn things Very Happy c. playing a face down VS and NOT having it plowed because it MIGHT be a bird is soooo techy

i play mask because i'm a sneaky bastard
i even run wormfang manta so i can play it facedown and take a timewalk when someone thinks it's phage
better yet, when someone plows the VS, you take another turn
fun for everyone
