Phew: Competitive magic has been fun, but I think I'm going to tone down for a little while, into vintage casual, one of my favorite ways to play.
Yes, the folling thread and included deck is green. Let me give y'all a two senentce history of my adventures in the green world:

I love green.Mr. Green I used to play Elfball competitively, and I kicked ass with it, but it lost it's luster after mad english breakfast and Dragon combos unfolded.

I've taken a break from green, but the power of stompy etc. is just too drawing. So, here I am again, sporting my color of choice. Since most of my envirnmoent is full of competitive losers, I've thrown in some meta cards (you'll notice them), but I tried not to use cards like Strip, for the purposes that this is mostly casual, it will just often be played against tier one decks.

As in my history, I noted I loved elfball and played it for many years, first stemming from Priest/elemental, one great fun deck that had the power to deal insane amounts of damage with Gaea's creatures and Thornie mixed with a timely Overrun, woo!.

But I think it's time to move on into a new frontier, well a slightly different fontier we'll say, so without further shit from me, here's my decklist.

The Seedborn Element:(tm) Cool

||||||EDITED: 2/18|||||||

My Favorite Part of the Deck:
4 Priest of Titania
4 Fyndhorn Elves
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Quirion Ranger
2 Wirewood Channeller

Yes, Sir. More Elves Sir.:
4 Skyshroud Poacher
3 Seedborn Muse
4 Voice of the Woods
3 Killer Bees

Elves Love Places:
3 Concordant Crossroads
2 Eladamri's Vineyard
2 Sylvan Library

Who Plays Couterspell???:
1 Regrowth
2 Forgotten Lore
2 Gaea's Blessing

I Wish I May:
3 Living wish

Mana Mana Mana Mana!:
3 Wooded Foothills
2 Elvish Spirit Guide
4 Land Grant
4 Forest

SB:
4 Naturalize
4 Tormod's Crypt
1 Seeborn Muse
1 Gaea's Cradle
1 Gaea's Herald
1 Wellwisher
1 Viridian Shaman
1 Masticore
1 Elvish Soultiller

I can't tell you how it fares against competition because I just made it last night . But I have tested it, and it seems like something is missing. Specifically, I want a backdoor out of all the mana this thing can produce. I was thinking Killer Bees, but it's just as accessible as all my other kills.

Is there a "Killer Elf"? Is there an Elf that can do something cool with mana, other than turn it into more mana? Razz

Any comments are welcome. Please feel free to try it out for yourself. And don't bother commenting on the mana base as I've done this for many years and I know how it works with green Wink...not bragging just trying to prevent unneeded discussion. Thanks in advance.

Peace Cool

Mirri's Guile curdles milk and makes children weep.

@Matt: At first I played 4 Biblioteque Sylvestre, But realized that Mirris Guile did the same thing essentially for one less mana <With Poacher in Play>

Of course, if you think Guile is that much of a drawback, should I risk playing 4 sylvans and topdeck multiple badness?

Mirri's Guile really doesn't do the same thing as Sylvan Library. You draw cards off Library around the second turn it's in play in an elf deck- because it speeds up your kill enough that 8 life is going to earn you a win (or, the closest an elf deck can get to one :p ) Then again, you don't want 4 cards filling this function anyhow, so keep your 2 libraries and cut both Guiles would be my advice.

@RoadTrippin': Well I guess the benefit of Sylvan is better than no benefit at all. Plus I wouldnt want to play either first turn, so I'd play them at the same time, I guess I'll play 2 Sylvans, maybe three. Ok, now I have empty space...what to do what to do???
