http://www.themanadrain.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15143I feel that I must share my thoughts on this...
The Brainburst/PoD forums have an incredible amount of potential. I'm pretty new to Type 1 myself, but I've become entrenched in the format because of Brainburst. I learned Type 1 there myself, first becoming obsessed with Stompy from MasterWolf's post since it was a deck I could actually build and I won a few matches with it on apprentice versus Keeper, then with Jhagg's Fish which I began testing ravenously on apprentice and then later in real life after scouring MOTL for the cards I needed. This growing interest in Type 1 soon led me here, where I mainly ghost but I still learn...
Anyway, the Brainburst forums as well as many other forums on other sites all have a core of potential players, many of them bad. This is not good. The brainburst forums are lucky because they have Jhaggs to ferry them tech, but they still aren't producing much.
I've tried to help a bit, by writing a few articles for PlayorDraw (
http://www.playordraw.com/db/article.asp?ID=107 ;
http://www.playordraw.com/db/article.asp?id=181 ), but my articles are fairly bad and DrSylvan does em better

. I also don't have much to contribute since my 14-year old budget keeps me working on Fish alone, and apart from online testing the only irl tournaments I can go to are once every two months.
So yeah, posting in the brainburst forums are cool. But theres a fairly big problem with it too...
It seems a bit foolish to start contributing at brainburst when we still have TMD... transforming Brainburst into a "New TMD" seems to just decentralize the Type 1 community, and posting the same things in every area is a bit of work.
So what is the purpose of fixing up bad forums? I guess to get more new players into Type 1. And although TMD has become very famous, many people still havent heard of it [see:

]
And making bad forums good forums can't hurt at all...
So yeah, I think contributing a bit into the Type 1 forums there is good, it gives bits and pieces of Type 1 tech to the forumgoers and actually sort of advertises TMD...
just my $0.02....
