Having played a few decks running 'Slaver this past weekend, I have come to realize how stupidly powerful it is. If anything were to be added to the restricted list in the near future, Mindslaver would be it.

1. There being no real mana curve in Powered, Workshopped decks, the 'Slaver comes down fast and can sometimes be activated in the same turn. Having multiple 'Slavers increases the likelihood of this happening.

2. The only solution to Mindslaver is removing it from the game. Putting in the graveyard only helps your opponent, as decks that run 'Slaver run Welder.

3. Once it's in the graveyard, it's a Time Walk every turn for 4R. Time Walk's on the restricted list and is much tamer than Mindslaver.
Time Walk doesn't say screw your opponent's card, board, and/or tempo advantages and/or make him annihilate himself.

These are what I've thought of so far. I'd like to see what everyone else has to think.

NO! T1 has many awesome decks right now. Do you want hulkamania to dominate more than it has (slaver is a strong foil to cookie monster)?

slaver costs 6 mana. That is a ton in T1 workshop or not. Then another 4 to activate it.

Firstly, goblin welders are what really make the card super good. Kill their welders, then you have to deal with the mean artifact just once. Oh, and if you can't deal with a 6 cc artifact, (providing you knock out welders....if you can't then you lost anyway) then I don't know what to tell you.

Furthermore, I believe that slaver has problems with nasty aggro.

Also, what did you play and what was in your sideboard?

I think this is the mostly poorly informed post i have read since joining the mana drain:

just because a card really baffles you and you have no means to dispell it personally: you think it should be banned?

The mana cost is extrodinary. The only real reason it is good is because of Welder. The recurrsion aspect of the card is the way it gets abused. Trust me no one is playing 4 slavers in a row out of their hands. So based on your post why not ban Welder? Mindlslaver would be nothing without welder except a meditate with take another turn instead of draw 4 cards. But the kicker is it would take 2 turns just to use in most normal circumstances.

Personally i think the deck is slow to get rolling and if you know the deck (which you should in this T1 environment) then you know the decks weakness. A well placed counter or burn spell or even a NATURALIZE would thwart the deck for at least a couple turns which in T1 should be more than enough for you to come up with another stall or a win... or else maybe you should think about your decks consistency and overall win potential.

I feel my current decks biggest weakness is not slavery mud but rather dragon... if you can beat dragon who cares about slavery... slavery is far inferior.

Here are some other solutions:
1. Win the game. Combo can win before slaver activates pretty easily.
2. Null Rod/Damping Matrix. Either of these mean no more Slaving.
3. Kill the Welders too.

We try to discourage, 'OMG I lost to (insert card) restrict it!' kind of posts.
