How can I post new topics in the type 1 forum?

I read the FAQ, but I still don't know how to. Do I just wait? Or what?

You can post stuff in the Open Type 1 Forum, right now. As far as the serious vintage forum, you have to be approved as a strong contributor to The Mana Drain before you get access to the higher-up forums. To do that, add insightful commentary and content to threads in the Open Type 1, Newbie, and Open Budget forums.

I'm sure this is in the FAQ somewhere.

That's the thread for questions about how the site is run/how membership works, etc. All questions should go there.

Basically, though, that forum is closed to basic users. You can't post there until you get upgraded to a full user.
